How do you buy music? (isues, quality, quantity)
Analogman replied to Vacant Horizon's topic in Someone Else's Song
I noticed recently that The Dollar Store still carries cassettes tapes. I have hundreds of them from back in the day. I'm not a fan of Jack White's music, but I have a new respect for him after reading that post. -
I was 13 when the album came out. I think I have an original pressing of it on vinyl. I know I still have the Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)/One of My Turns single. I respect the album. and have heard it many times, but never really got into it. That is partly due to Bob Ezrin's style of production. It's too polished for my taste. I am somewhat amazed by the comments about Roger lip-syncing or whatever it is called these days. I am surprised that he did not hire a Pink Floyd tribute band to back him on this tour. It will be interesting to see how much it cost him to put on the show vers

Two things I have read in the past two days about sound quality: I don't have a link for Jack's post - as I think you have to be signed up at Third Man to read it. I found it on another message board. Marah sticks a fork in CD era? -
I've seen those photos. They were used in at least one Doors book over the years. I like the footage I saw last night, but the rest did not do anything for me. As someone said on another message board, we already know that stuff. Some of what Depp was saying was smoothed over, and/or changed from what I have always read. Still, it was neat to see all of that concert footage. It was shot for Feast of Friends. (Also - that car was Jim's. A 1967 Shelby GT500.)
-
That opening footage of Jim in the Mustang is from his film HMY.
-
I missed watching the show last night. I think that is only the second episode I have ever missed watching. It's a good thing it is online. I can see why people would not like it, but I think it is alright.

Was it The Collected Jeff Tweedy 1997-2003 that you grabbed?
-
From the clips I saw, I don't think I would want to see it. I suppose the last Beatles movie I saw was Backbeat(1994).
-
I think it was in the other Beatles thread, or maybe some movie thread. It may be thinking of the discussion we had around here on the film Chapter 27. Are you familiar with The Hours and Times (1991)?

When I saw Dylan, that is who was in the band.

Also - check out: The Conet Project

It's funny - when I saw them in 2003, at the hockey place in Pittsburgh, I was up at the top right hand side. There were people even then talking and whatnot throughout the show. But there was really no one in front of us, so that helped out the sound situation.

Rolling Stones' Exile On Main Street Week

She also played with the Stones. Her story is in the According To. . .The Rolling Stones book. -
This is the Wilco taping policy:
-
I don't care for 30 Rock - so I don't watch it. NBC has quite a block of comedy going on there. I have been reading reports that Steve Carell is going to quit the show after next season.
-
Of course, now it is three. (Dave, Adrian, and Janick Gers) Gary Rossington and Allen Collins Toy Caldwell and George McCorkle

I bet just Mick and Keith did whatever they added on to the tracks. Although, I think I read somewhere that Mick Taylor was called in to do some work. -
Yes, it is him. Peter Green and Danny Kirwan
-
Here is three that I can think of: Rich Robinson and Marc Ford Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson Dave Murray and Adrian Smith
-
That's nothing new. I think it will be worth it to see the Feast of Friends footage. If people don't like the band, then why would they watch the film anyway.

I have mentioned this pamphlet around here a few times over the years. I scanned it for someone on Facebook, so I thought I would post it here also.
