Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da It talks about how that came to be in the Beatles Complete Recording Sessions book. I have not read the book in a while, but I also seem to recall that the song was worked on and re-done quite a few times. I want to say that the rest of the band did not get into as much as Paul, but I could be wrong about that. To me, all Beatles songs are magic, some are just more magical than others. I think Paul had heard some ska/reggae music and tried to create a version of that for the band. I think he got the title from some musician he knew, who later went on to sue Paul over th

I suppose he is doing as Jay did with Son Volt; carrying on with the name regardless of who is in the band. I have not listened to the new songs yet, but I may check them out.

I wonder how she came to be in the band. When I looked up her name, there were various views about her name(s). They must have been sick of the pattern at the end of the original band.

I did not know this until recently, but Dave Bielanko is the only original guy left in the band. Serge left in 2008.

I will say one thing - it is nice to see them play whatever they want, without worrying about what songs belong in what set. I understand there is such a thing as flow, but if you want to open the show with Dark Star, then why not just do it. Sunshine (Garcia) Becker is Mountain Girl's daughter?

I have not read that one, but I did read Stone Alone (as I mentioned above). I think it is great, but he does go on about all the women he screwed, and how bad Mick and Keith treated everyone else. So, it is a typical rock star book. But, since it is from his diaries, I believe it to be real. Or, at least his view of his time in the band. I'd like to read Andrew Loog Oldham's Stoned (1998) and 2Stoned (2001). Although, he is a Church of Scientology member, so the second book may be not worth reading. I don't know.

Aerosmith, With Steven Tyler, Booked For U.K.'s Download Fest I wonder how mad Joe got when he heard Steven was going to sue to stop them from getting another singer?

Also - he did give us The Unforgiven. I love so-called Spaghetti Western films. Maybe Paul could do a sequel to Light of Day instead. He could call it Dark of Night.

If you ever get to see Season 7 of The Trailer Park Boys, check it out. I don't want to spoil it, but let's just say Sebastian Bach gets mixed up with the boys. Axl must be a fan also, as he has had Bubbles as a guest on stage at some Canadian Guns N'Roses shows.

As far as I know, just the two I mentioned. I have not read a lot of Stones books, so I am not sure. The famous one use to be Up And Down With The Rolling Stones, which they always dismiss, of course.

The real name of the place was EMI Studios - until the early 1970s, if I recall correctly. I think it began to be used as a studio in the early 1930s. The building itself was built in the 1830s. The Beatles are not the only group that made great and innovative music there (of course). It would be nice to see the place continue to serve as a studio. I would think Paul McCartney has enough money to but the place many times over - if he wanted to buy it. One of things I like about the Complete Beatles book, is George noting that some of the same lights and other things The Beatles had br

Where I grew up, you could graduate at 17 if you had a job. This was during the late 1970s. Of course, there were a lot of jobs around during that time. -
I was wondering if we would see Katey Sagal again.

That's it. As a stone skipping over a turbulent body of water. Speaking of movies, a friend of mine called me the other day and asked me if had I ever noticed that Tuco acts/looks like a rat towards the end of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. I told him to check out the beginning when they are reading through his crimes, and notice the name that Eastwood refers to him as when he is standing off to himself. That is probably one of my most favorite movies of all time. What would the story be if Taxi Driver 2 was made? Would it turn into a Death Wish type of film, or would he be "cured",

I think they have often denounced that book. I can't recall exactly. I believe it talks about Altamont in the According To The Rolling Stones book. I can't recall when they say they arrived though.

Could be - Another great film.

A friend of mine use to complain about the flashbacks to the swing. Here's another Nick Nolte film for people to check out: Farewell to the King (1989). I should say that in my mind, Travis Bickle does not live to be an old man.

When I first saw this thread, I thought of poor old Sylvester Stallone still making Rocky/Rambo films after all of these years. I don't need a sequel to Taxi Driver. I don't think anyone can duplicate the magic of that film. I think The Thin Red Line is a great film (along with Badlands, and Days of Heaven).

That is hilarious.
