  1. I don't see that - there is nothing "hair metal" about the band. Unless you just mean hit orientated, as opposed to an album orientated band. I have always thought they were sort of both. Or at least they use to be - not so much now though. There first album is all sicked up, just like Pearl Jam's first album, and just like Nevermind (as far as that goes). I believe that was partly due to fact that other people had more say on the finished product than the band did.
  2. So the shows were filmed: Cabin Fever (2009)(DVD)
  3. I learned a lot of things reading through those interviews - some of which, I found disturbing. But, that is no surprise really. It was nice to see an interview with Kidd Candelario. I don't think there are very many interviews with him out there.
  4. I agree with a lot of what Lefsetz writes, but sometimes he is just screwy. I think that may be all Stills and company have left - vault releases. I don't think they are signed with a record company. And I can't believe they are reduced to jumping on the covers album bandwagon. They should hurry, because I think the popularity of such releases is fading fast. Although, Barbra Streisand just had some success with a jazz standards album, so maybe I am wrong.
  5. Stills article by way of Billboard.com
  6. Working Class Hero (I forgot they did that song.)
  7. I believe I have an issue of CREEM (when it came back out in the large size format) that has an extended interview with Tin Machine. What was the other controversy? Something about a record sleeve with naked dude statues on it?
  8. There was also a live album released (Tin Machine Live: Oy Vey, Baby). I recall seeing them on TV, but never cared for the music they made. Of course, I am not really much of a Bowie fan outside of his 60s-1973 output.
  9. Thanks for the package, MB. According to Harvey Lubar this show contained Dick's favorite Dark Star: 9-19-1970 (This show contains a Darkness, Darkness jam.)
  10. Wilco's Non-album Tracks (there is some talk about it there already) I think there is at least one thread about the Cash album in the Just The Fan section.
  11. There are some nice podcasts on this site: Pang Pang I don't think I have ever seen the John and Paul photo that is posted there. That is a May Pang photo, taken around the time of the Harry Nilsson sessions.
  12. He just put this out recently: The Rod Stewart Sessions. OR maybe we should say the record company put this out recently. There are some good tracks on there, but it looks better than it is. The take of Maggie May on the first disc for example, is just him making up words over the backing track. I was pretty excited when I saw that, thinking it would be some sort of jam of the song or something, but it is not. The version of You're In My Heart [The Final Acclaim] [Acoustic Version]is cool though, as it does not have that annoying violin in the background.
  13. I am a bit curious about that whole deal - as it bugs me. After watching it - I guess he was messing around. To me, it's not automatically a bad thing to be called a Redneck. I guess it depends on where you are from, and what you grew up with. I think Wilson has talent, but unfortunately, she is stuck singing junk songs. But, I guess that pays the bills at the end of the day. And - It is her choice. I think the Redneck deal is just part of her show, and a way she connects with her fans.
  14. Sutras This is the film that Mountain Bed was talking about. I would like to see it myself: Sunshine Superman - The Journey Of Donovan
  15. I just looked up some of those albums at Amazon. It looks like the re-masters are still in print, and actually don't cost all that much. Ferris Wheel
  16. I've always thought it was Jeff Beck and company on Hurdy Gurdy Man. I don't think I heard about it being someone else until I read the liner notes in the re-release of the Greatest Hits cd. It does not sound like John Bonham on drums to me.
  17. You can click on the song you want to know about in this section (Category: Donovan songs) and it will take you to the album page.
