This came about as I was about to buy one of those Who cd re-issues I don't own (Tommy 2 disc edition) and the guy at the counter pointed out the fact that I was about to buy an SACD - which was a nice thing of him to do - a I would not have been able to play it. All of the early Stones cds I bought a while back have an SACD layer.

Grateful Dead Live at Dupont Gymnasium M.I.T. on 1970-05-07 I love the acoustic stuff - although, Candyman sounds odd without the haunting pedal steel in the background. Darkness Jam (I had never heard this before either) I have never actually heard any of the New Riders albums - the above song has a pretty cool groove. A woman I work with recently saw them play a show at a place up in the mountains.

SACD is a dead medium now, yes? At least that is what some dude in a record store in Pittsburgh told me a few month ago.

I can see his point. I heard it a few months ago. I don't think I will buy it - as I could not get into it.

I think I may have said this before - but I looked at the newspaper accounts that were published right after that show, and the following two themes seemed to emerge from what I read: 1. People thought that there was going to be some sort of "60s like riot". 2. Most people interviewed on the street seemed to hate them, because, they were not playing Disco music. That's a terrible version of Cumberland Blues - I can't believe they put that up for people to hear.

I have Cary's first solo album - but not the other two.
-
I don't have that one, or The Hilltops album.

I started to say - I have the SBD of those shows - but then changed my mind after reading that. But - as you just said, that is what they are. Of course, you can look it up - as you have the magic book. Someone sent me the Huntington show on cassette years ago - the Morgantown show I got from archive.org before they stopped the downloading of SBD shows.

I saw that on David Gans' blog the other day - pretty funny.
-
Oh - I have never done that.

The other day, I was getting into Corrina, Corrina - never gave that song much thought before.

And your signature line. . .

I was digging around in the Wilco section - there are several threads that lists such places - he can check that out - and I am sure others will post some places in this thread.

Good point. I just know that is what people recommend. I have not bought any records for a long time - there are no more indoor flea markets, or record stores where I live. If I can't go into a store and dig around, I don't really want to mess with it.
-
Yes, that has been mentioned in the previous threads on this topic. I'm sure they will do one at some point.
-
It's on The Genuine Basement Tapes (Volume 3).

I'm not sure he had anything to do with The Basement Tapes release - that was Robbie Robertson's deal. I have also read that he does not really have much to do with The Bootleg Series, either.
