Yes - Earl was in a coma in the hospital, and they were trying to wake him up. I guess the biggest surprise was - Paris Hilton was in the episode. Speaking of Paris Hilton in the episode of My Name Is Earl that I thought of while looking at a thread about The Office, she still looks like a 12 year boy to me.

Speaking of The Office, last week, there was a new episode of My Name Is Earl on - I did not know that - I almost missed it.

What we should do is let the people of Tibet have that place in Texas and send those child raping polygamist (so called christians) over to Tibet.

I think he did just that - before he joined Wilco.

What's the price of gas where you are?

I could see having such a deal - if you lived in the mountains - but I don't see a need for one in an urban environment. -

I think you are right. I actually see at least one Hummer just about every morning. -

People seem to prefer starting the same thread over and over again here instead of adding to an existing thread. Plus - if you make a section for one thing, everyone will want a section for something. I agree with you - but I just don't see it happening. It would be cool to have one Ryan Adams thread instead of say, twenty of them. -

I was sticking a WIlco lyric in there - because like Ryan, I am not right in the head. I rather like your idea - and I think I have asked for such a thing before - but I believe the idea was rejected. -

I don't own a car - but I often wonder how people afford to fuel all the Hummers, Cadillac Escalades, etc. that I see the college kids driving around here. -

The force is strong in this one. Although, I doubt we could all come to a unified theory of every band that should go in such a section. -

I suppose I am being too general in my comments - I know someone who once exchanged actual hand written letters with Pete Townshend. I can't see Jay Farrar doing that. As far as Ryan goes, he does post on the Ryan Adams Archive message board - so that is something. Also, Ian Hunter, Richard Thompson, and (some others I can't think of at the moment), have a section on their websites where they actually answer fans questions. I think that is pretty cool. -

I am used to larger than life rock stars - that is rock and roll to me - swagger, ego, sexual energy, etc. It was not until I got into country/alt. country that I ever viewed musicians as so-called normal down to earth people. OF course - sometimes we think bands are a certain way - "for the people" - and it is later revealed that they are money and power mad just like whatever band they just put down in an interview last week. Case in Point: Nirvana. I don't see Ryan as being the way people here are describing him - he seems down to earth to me. -
Most people I know - only listen to whatever the current hit of the week is - and I doubt they ever think about the quailty of the Mp3 they got via Walmart or iTunes. I once tried to explain to someone I know the difference bewteen WAV/FLAC/Mp3 files and what the deal was with Mp3 bit rates - and they looked at me like I was making the shit up.

I sometimes snag stuff - mainly new stuff such as the new REM album - that way I don't blow money on something I won't listen to again. I buy cds though - there was a time I use to buy a cd almost everyday - but I have not done that for a long time now. I like to go to record stores and look around - and those days are pretty much gone - where I live anyhow. I'd say within the next 10 years or less, cds will go the way of the record album.
