Where to start with The Grateful Dead?

Can't - unless you can prove they are soundboards.

We're gonna see a brave new world where they run everybody a wire and hook us all up to a grid. Yes, sir, a veritable age of reason. Like the one they had in France. Not a moment too soon.

I understand your frustration - people who don't seed torrents are a problem also. He could have sent that to you privately - at least.
-
That's not always true.

It's not Via Chicago policy (I wish it was), but rather show sharing etiquette. At least, that is what I was taught. Look it up.

It's really bad form to post whole shows in Mp3. Why not just copy your disc and send them to him in the mail.
-
I am not interested - but one can find updates about this almost every day at expecting rain.

Well - it is cool to share - but, eventually one has to learn how to do this sort of thing. Instead of asking for single tracks - get the show and do with it what you want. That is what I was taught a few years ago. This stuff takes effort - or it did for me anyhow. After a while, I figured it out.

I didn't view it close enough.

Compared to a lot of live old VH I have heard - they sounded good. At least he seemed to be singing in tune.
-
I don't recall. I think he said something about Chest Fever - and how only Robbie's name was on it - but Garth wrote it or some such deal.
-
In Levon's book, he talks about that. I think he has sued over the issue.

I am curious to why he was tasered with handcuffs on. I am not up on police procedure. The cops don't bother me now - I actually call the cops on people. When I was younger, however, I was not exactly cop friendly.

To me, that is one of the most amazing things about them - thier music was not like what they played with him, or with Dylan. There are some very good liner notes in the re-issues - I have them all.

Anything great or memorable since 197?
-
From what Levon, (the other savior/devil) says - all of their songs at the show were re-done - except for his drums, of course.

Yes, there are many many many threads on this topic. Yes, The Last Waltz was mostly re-recorded after the show in a studio. Yes, those first two albums are awesome. Yes, the rest are not so great. Yes, Robbie Robertson in the devil. Yes, Robbie Robertson is the savior.
