  1. I realized that, Ojai. My point being whatever may be going on in writing/recording a new album in Chicago, he doesn't appear to have been there in person.
  2. Whatever Tweedy and Wilco may be doing on a new album in the Loft, Mikael has been posting photos from CA on Instagram as recently as a few days ago.
  3. I can vouch for the stage photography assignment. Those two photos hanging in my office from SS1 put a smile on my face every day.
  4. I would fall off my chair at this point if Tweedy does a solo set. I would happily fall, but don't see it happening.
  5. Yes, but as I recall the beer prices were so reasonable, like $3 or $4. The selection wasn't great for variety, but they weren't selling Budweiser at those prices. And bottled water at $1. Solid Sound is the best.
  6. What a great lineup. Somewhat speechless about it all.
  7. I missed last night's show also. Who do we think closes on Sunday? I was assuming YLT would, until knotgreen questioned that they open for Wilco.
  8. White Denim. Very happy to see that. I've never seen them, but my friends who saw them open for Wilco in California raved about them.
  9. I love it, I think it's whimsical and in good fun.
  10. They announce Mikael, but don't announce The Autumn Defense? Is it possible TAD are not playing?
  11. Is that a "wish", "guess", or "on good information"? Or, more along the lines of a humorous muse given that Levon closed the last one. I think that must be it!
  12. "I" is for I Got You. We now know for sure Wilco is playing Friday and Saturday nights. Wonder who is closing on Sunday?
  13. I am so happy to see David Hidalgo on the list
  14. "I Might" lead into a commercial this morning on Morning Joe on MSNBC.
  15. This version of Tore Up at the 23 minute mark could wake up someone in a coma!
  16. Do people think they are recording now? Whatever is going on in the Loft doesn't involve Mikael, who continues to post photos daily from his new home in CA.
  17. While there's no accounting for what suits each individual's ear, I take issue with the talent of the Buzzcocks sentiment (which I assume to be a dig). Garcia, Lesh, Weir. These guys are incredibly talented, innovative players. If you have the interest to check out the Dead and see what the fuss was all about, it can be daunting to "crack the code", there's so much music there. I imagine it could be daunting. My suggestion, get to know some of the songs. Don't start with entire shows. Listen to Uncle John's, or Sugaree, or Jack Straw, sugar Mag. Big River. Or a rocking '71 Not Fade&
  18. This morning's view, and still coming down. Thankful we still have power.
  19. Reporting from Needham. Howling out there. The electrical map shows 100% of Dedham and parts of Needham without power, we are right next door still with power. http://www.boston.com/news/weather/specials/snow_power_outage_map/ Coastal towns are being evacuated.
  20. Snowing and blowing like crazy here outside Boston. So far still have power. Still a long way to go with this one.
  21. I did enjoy the Sammy Hagar stuff. The "jet ski salesman." With the bikini dancers.
  22. Fair point, but what I didn't know was that Garlin and Tweedy are pretty close friends. Garlin hangs at his house, talks about being in Tweedy's basement and hanging with his family. So there's definitely a personal history (Garlin's from Chicago), not as much as with Larry David, but a lot more than with Lena Dunham.
