No Wilco shows made it to your top list, or even "the rest"?

Sorry to read you went the entire year without any live music. But I'm sure your $$ were well spent on GD stuff. As I type, I'm listening to the Record Store Day vinyl release of Winterland May 30, 1971. Hope you got that one.

A different take on the topic. I am looking forward to Clapton's Crossroads at MSG, Jazz Fest second weekend, and of course Solid Sound.

I've said it before, will say it again. I've seen hundreds if not thousands of shows in 40 years of seeing live music, that Evening With at the Orpheum is in my top 5 of all time.

I really missed out. Damn.

This was a real mixed bag for me. Highlights were Clapton, Alicia Keys and The Who (can they really be called The Who?). Lowlights were Bon Jovi and Kanye, boy I cannot stand either of those. Indifferent to Bruce (lost my connection to his songs years ago) and Waters. The Stones just make me sad for how much I think Keith has lost it. I haven't seen them live on any of their recent shows, but any of the clips I've seen they seem pathetic. Kanye sent me to bed so missed everything after him.

Psychedelic Pill. If you like Neil with Crazy Horse, and I know that lots of Neil fans do not, but if you do, give this release a listen or two. I am loving it.

Haven't listened enough to have a view, but I saw Lee Renaldo Band open for Wilco this summer and thought they were fantastic.

Didn't Prince do a bunch of shows this year, not a tour but extended runs in some cities? I remember reading great things about the shows.

That's what i thought, but then I saw on Twitter that someone posted a photo of their 3 day ticket. Check out Twitterer "jmint". And twoshedsjackson here also wrote that tickets were received. So I'm confused.

I saw others also report that tickets were received. I have not gotten my early bird tickets. Anyone else *not* gotten theirs?

Thankfully, Albert King gets the nod. That's about all I would have to say about this year's list.

Disagree with Shug about the Grateful Dead Movie box set. That run of shows was outstanding in my view, I for one love the sound from these shows, and the bonus disc of straight up tunes without any of the movie stuff is top notch GD playing from my favorite era ('72-74). I couldn't recommend it more. That's where I think you should start.

Indeed. My breakfast is usually around 5:00 a.m. at the St. Charles Diner on our way home from some late night club show. A throwback to high school years.

Two Wilco shows on summer nights in the beautiful Berkshires. No doubt that's enough right there to get me there too. But since there will be additional musicians, all the better. Looking forward to seeing what the Wilco team has in store.

Obama's introduction from the Kennedy Center Awards

Anybody going? This will be my 4th year going with a buddy who'd been encouraging me to go with him for like 13 years. Finally went in 2010, and I don't plan on ever not going again. The music, the food, the late nights. For a music fan, its like being a kid in a candy shop. So if it's on your bucket list or something you've been thinking about doing, just do it! OK, I'll get off my soap box now. This video will get me through the morning.

No doubt. Alabama Shakes, who were fun to see, but c'mon. So much higher up than Wilco? I just looked at Paste' list of top 20 tv shows of the year. Any such list that does not include Treme is immediately suspect in my book.

Watched the Celebration Day dvd at home this weekend. Wife was out of town, so I got to crank it. Damn, I've got a fair amount of concert dvd's, and this may be the best of them all. Didn't grow up a huge LZ fan, so it's a surprise to me that this zoomed to the top of my charts. But the performance of the music is undeniable. And it clearly comes through the screen how much Jimmy Page loves playing these songs. I would rate this a "must have" for even the most casual of LZ fans.

^ yay for Yo La Tengo I don't know what the chances are for a Tweedy solo set. 2010, 1 Wilco set and a Tweedy solo. 2011, two Wilco shows and no Tweedy solo. 2013, two Wilco shows and ???

Tickets on sale, time to really start thinking about SS'13. Wo else is playing? Rumors! Wish list? Other than the obvious Wilco side projects (although whether Tweedy plays solo is not obvious or a foregone conclusion), some performances I'd like to see and think would fit in well with the Solid Sound vibe: Barr Brothers, Lee Renaldo Band, Heartless Bastards. Other than Lee Renaldo, who did some opening dates this summer (yay for the Bushnell show), I have no idea who's a Wilco friend and would be a viable contender to be on the bill. So file this under "wish list."
