  1. Performing Ohm on Jimmy Fallon last night. He says at the end that there's a bonus song on his website, but I couldn't find it. http://www.latenightwithjimmyfallon.com/blogs/2013/01/yo-la-tengo-performs-ohm/
  2. I would add Miles-In A Silent Way. Just spun this vinyl with my morning coffee, absolutely a perfect album.
  3. While pondering the live album debate, I would have to include these: Beatles-Abbey Road Dead-American Beauty Lucinda- Car Wheels Wilco-The Whole Love
  4. Side 2 of Wake is one of my favorite song sequences of any GD studio releases.
  5. I agree. But...there is something particularly special about the Wolftrap show to my ears. Very high energy opening sequence of songs.
  6. Good catch. I listen to so much live Phish purchased from LivePhish.com or otherwise acquired that I forgot about A Live One. Probably my first introduction to the live wonder that is Phish.
  7. If watching Phish live pay per view stream from MSG on my big screen through a surround sound system with a pitcher of margaritas counts as "seeing" a show, this goes onto my list. And we're still in the first set.
  8. Not that many shows this year for me compared to most here I bet. Here's my tops: JazzFest second weekend. All of it, day and night, with a particular highlight being the original Meters show at the Howlin Wolf. Their first club gig in New Orleans in 30 years. They may be old, but they can play. Saw 2 Wilco shows, MassMoCA and Hartford. The Bushnell show gets a little higher rating because the sound was incredible. And because Lee Renaldo Band. Phish in Worcester, first night of summer tour as they set out and blew up all across America (as I'm watching the MSG pay per view right n
  9. No Wilco shows made it to your top list, or even "the rest"?
  10. Sorry to read you went the entire year without any live music. But I'm sure your $$ were well spent on GD stuff. As I type, I'm listening to the Record Store Day vinyl release of Winterland May 30, 1971. Hope you got that one.
  11. A different take on the topic. I am looking forward to Clapton's Crossroads at MSG, Jazz Fest second weekend, and of course Solid Sound.
  12. I've said it before, will say it again. I've seen hundreds if not thousands of shows in 40 years of seeing live music, that Evening With at the Orpheum is in my top 5 of all time.
  13. This was a real mixed bag for me. Highlights were Clapton, Alicia Keys and The Who (can they really be called The Who?). Lowlights were Bon Jovi and Kanye, boy I cannot stand either of those. Indifferent to Bruce (lost my connection to his songs years ago) and Waters. The Stones just make me sad for how much I think Keith has lost it. I haven't seen them live on any of their recent shows, but any of the clips I've seen they seem pathetic. Kanye sent me to bed so missed everything after him.
  14. Psychedelic Pill. If you like Neil with Crazy Horse, and I know that lots of Neil fans do not, but if you do, give this release a listen or two. I am loving it.
  15. Haven't listened enough to have a view, but I saw Lee Renaldo Band open for Wilco this summer and thought they were fantastic.
  16. Didn't Prince do a bunch of shows this year, not a tour but extended runs in some cities? I remember reading great things about the shows.
  17. That's what i thought, but then I saw on Twitter that someone posted a photo of their 3 day ticket. Check out Twitterer "jmint". And twoshedsjackson here also wrote that tickets were received. So I'm confused.
  18. I saw others also report that tickets were received. I have not gotten my early bird tickets. Anyone else *not* gotten theirs?
  19. Thankfully, Albert King gets the nod. That's about all I would have to say about this year's list.
  20. Disagree with Shug about the Grateful Dead Movie box set. That run of shows was outstanding in my view, I for one love the sound from these shows, and the bonus disc of straight up tunes without any of the movie stuff is top notch GD playing from my favorite era ('72-74). I couldn't recommend it more. That's where I think you should start.
