Probably of no significance to anyone but me, but today is the 19th anniversary of the Runaway Jam show in Worcester. The longest single song performance. We went as a family outing, my son was 7, my daughter 10 and my wife. First Phish show for all of them. Still remembered for the guy next to my son shaking his dirty dreadlocks in his face all night And for the shit show of a scene outside getting into the Centrum doors, which def freaked my kids a little. Don't know if my daughter ever saw Phish again, but my son and wife certainly logged many more after that night. http://www.jambase.c

I was waiting for your list. The Las Vegas over/under on how many of your bands I will have even heard of, let alone have heard, is 8. We went to the Who show, and I know you were at the Wilco/Orpheum shows. I think I'm going with the under.

Aaah, sorry about that. No disrespect to our northern friends, I was so focused on the Beacon shows I didn't really look elsewhere.

Hoping for some Boston shows, but will plan on making the trip down to the Beacon for at least 1.

Saw a bunch of shows so far, most of which were "favorites" but these of particular note: Lettuce at HOB-Boston Wilco-3 shows in 4 nights was probably the highligt of the year for me: one at State Theater, Portland and two at the Orpheum Isbell at HOB The Who-first time for me, cross that off my bucket list. Starting a 2017 topic, as Wilco just announced a string of U.S. dates for March, including a 4 night run at the Beacon Theater, March 18-9 and 21-22. All dates up on Wilcoworld, pre-sale starts Wednesday..

Had time home alone today, so spent some time with the '73 Winterland box. Could be my favorite of all the box sets they've put out. A peak year, and the HDCD's sound sterling. I popped in D9, 1973-11-11, the final disc of the 3 night run. A 35 minute Dark Star to start, the notes just rolling off a band sounding so relaxed and inside the music. Everything on this disc has the vibe of a Sunday night, relaxed, confident, on top of their game (with the exception of the start to SSDD). American Band is far and away my best album of the year. Such a strong statement album, very powerful and moving tunes. I think it's great from start to finish. If anyone's interested in something less than the full LA bundle, I bought the last night of LA as soon as they were available. Really great show. Chose that one of the 3 based on reading the reports for each show in the After the Show section. I haven't heard the others (were reports of "weird" audiences the first 2 nights), but you won't go wrong with this one. Also got the 9-2 Seattle show. Another good one. Haven't heard the 9-3 show.

For me, nothing compares to any of the first five I.R.S. releases. Not to say I don't like Out of Time, but..

Can't have too much '73 Dead. My single favorite GD year. This is an excellent show. I'm probably not going to do the subscription again this year, but I will be hot to get this one when it gets announced for sale.

Mr. Tinnitus Photography didn't make it, but Rich Gastwirt did, and he has a nice photo album from the show up on FB.

Thanks for the write up. Definitely looking forward to their return to Boston this winter. Interesting about the sound. Last time I saw them, at Columbia Theater in Providence, we were down pretty close just behind the open pit area and my buddy and I noticed the sound was pretty bad. I chalked it up to being too close, but perhaps not. I don't remember that being an issue at previous shows. Hey, not every band can have a Stan at the controls!

Really good show. Glad I forced myself to go on a weeknight. I couldn't tell you a single song he did. I hardly ever listen to MMJ or him on my own, but always go see them live and am always blown away by MMJ. Definitely not the intensity of a Jacket show, but that would be obvious from the new album. Didn't really care for the opening band from my listening to them earlier in the day, but they were great backing him. Would definitely encourage you to go.

I would like to. I still have a DVD player, no Blu-Ray, so I have to figure out how much of this won't be useable for me.

I read about it earlier in the week and got it set up on the DVR. Episode 2 ran last night. Haven't seen either yet. Betty Cantor-Jackson is episode 8.
