  1. Can't have too much '73 Dead. My single favorite GD year. This is an excellent show. I'm probably not going to do the subscription again this year, but I will be hot to get this one when it gets announced for sale.
  2. Mr. Tinnitus Photography didn't make it, but Rich Gastwirt did, and he has a nice photo album from the show up on FB.
  3. Thanks for the write up. Definitely looking forward to their return to Boston this winter. Interesting about the sound. Last time I saw them, at Columbia Theater in Providence, we were down pretty close just behind the open pit area and my buddy and I noticed the sound was pretty bad. I chalked it up to being too close, but perhaps not. I don't remember that being an issue at previous shows. Hey, not every band can have a Stan at the controls!
  4. Really good show. Glad I forced myself to go on a weeknight. I couldn't tell you a single song he did. I hardly ever listen to MMJ or him on my own, but always go see them live and am always blown away by MMJ. Definitely not the intensity of a Jacket show, but that would be obvious from the new album. Didn't really care for the opening band from my listening to them earlier in the day, but they were great backing him. Would definitely encourage you to go.
  5. I would like to. I still have a DVD player, no Blu-Ray, so I have to figure out how much of this won't be useable for me.
  6. He played last night, I didn't go. Just tonight for me. You?
  7. I read about it earlier in the week and got it set up on the DVR. Episode 2 ran last night. Haven't seen either yet. Betty Cantor-Jackson is episode 8.
  8. That should be great, let us know. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. According to the venue, Twin Limb at 9:00 and Jim James at 10:15. Maybe I misunderstood your post, are you saying that Twin Limb is backing James as well as playing their own set?
  10. I see Twin Limb on the bill, I assumed they were the opener. I didn't know they were the band with him. Thanks.
  11. Seeing him tomorrow night. No idea what to expect. Does anyone know what this tour is? I assume he's got a band? I searched but couldn't find any info.
  12. There are no codes is my understanding. I'm pretty sure Wilco posted that on FB or tweeted that.
  13. Which reminds me, we saw R.E.M. at the Harvard gym. Must have been soon after Murmur came out, maybe Reckoning. The thing about that show is Husker Du opened, at that point I didn't know them and we hung outside and got ready for R.E.M. Just a few months later I was listening to Husker Du and was kicking myself. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. 3 shows announced. Does anyone think additional shows will be added? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Glad I got to see him a couple of times over the last several years: with Hot Tuna in Boston, and as part of that fantastic TTB Mad Dogs and Englishmen set at Lockn'. Pulled out my Concert for Bangladesh dvd yesterday and watched the Leon segment. Great as it always was.
  16. Holy crap, I never saw that video! Will watch tonight on the big screen. And yes, I would love to make that trade!
  17. Wilco announced the 2017 Winterlude run. Announced dates are Feb. 22-23 and 25, at Chicago Theater. Pre-sale Wednesday, on sale Friday.
  18. Two shows come quickly to mind: The Cure at the Underground, Allston MA. Tiny venue, just couple hundred people there I think. Boys Don't Cry was just out. Ramones upstairs at Max's Kansas City. Black Sabbath at Academy of Music-is that early enough (Masters of Reality tour) and small enough to qualify? (right up there with Mr. Tinnitus Photography seeing Phish at the Paradise in the "I would never have thunk it" category). Wilco at the Avalon, Boston. I know there must be others, I will have to give it some thought.
  19. I've probably posted this before, I was at that show. One of my top 5 all time concerts, and the second set may have been the single best GD set I had the fortune to be at. The entire day was one of those magical GD things. My wife and I drove down to MSG for one of the earlier shows in the run, the Saturday show where they opened with Touch. I then bought a single seat way up behind the stage just in case I would go down again. The morning of I had no intentions of going. As I recall, September 20 was a Jewish high holiday, and I was at services with my wife and 2 young kids when I got a call
  20. Good to hear. We were talking about the Truckers last night at the Lovelace show, about how we hadn't heard anything from Hood or Cooley since Tuesday. Unless we missed it. Did they have anything to say from the stage? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. An email I just received from my cousin apropos of this week's events: "Leonard Cohen had to die this week because even he could not find the words to describe our despair."
  22. I figured my offer of a drink wasn't enough when I saw you changed your FB photo at about 9:15. She was really good, I was really happy to be there on so many levels. Was very well attended, but I guess it was a somber crowd as she couldn't get anyone to laugh at her jokes despite her many attempts. Musically right up my alley, I can see why DBT had her open some stops on their current tour. She did a 3 song solo acoustic segment towards the end that was also excellent. Then they ended with the full band thrashing away on stage while she walked off and walked right by us heading to the merch t
  23. I'm buying if that will help motivate to get you out. I know it's not much of an offer but it's all I got!
