  1. This Jack Straw is great! Mayer can play this music, for sure. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ig3qLtMAn_4&sns=em Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. New band, not the Nocturnals, right? her husband was the drummer I hear. Saw them open for the Allmans a few years ago at Great Woods, and saw them last year at Lockn' 2014. Thought they were fun both times. She did a stunning tribute to Farmer, Warren's guitar tech who suddenly died shortly before. Got on the B3 and did a solo I Shall Be Released. 3. Hopefully in a good way! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. I am not surprised Mayer is sounding good with this band and this material. I listened to a bunch of the second set from the stream, and as I listened realized I am more likely now to go to Worcester. As for the comments about Weir and the slow tempo on some tunes, I don't hold much hope that will change. After FTW, Trey was quoted that he said to Bobby "do you really want to play that song so slow?" Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Just listened to a few minutes of Music Never Stopped on the live stream. Sounded pretty hot. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. I like everything about her (my friends all know I have a soft spot for a girl playing electric guitar), but her writing style particularly catches my attention. She has a great way of turning a phrase, and capturing a unique perspective on the ordinary and everyday.
  7. I like it more than "okay." Not as much as Sometimes I Sit and Think..., but it does have Avant Gardner, so that in and of itself gets it a better than okay rating in my book.
  8. My attorney advised me to take the Fifth! Let's just say it involved a car in the parking lot that was suddenly surrounded by police. My buddy who was with me wrote "An eternal thank you goes out to the South Yarmouth Police Department.." Amen to that.
  9. Wilco, right? The show where Tweedy is amazed how much weed is being smoked in the audience. "You're all high, that's why you want us to keep playing." Some hilarious banter there. A great show, I listen to it frequently.
  10. I vote for you to catch the Philly show on your way up to Portchester. Why not? I'm likely in the minority, but I'm interested to hear Mayer play this songbook with these guys. I'd like to catch a show but I hate going to Worcester-hate the drive in traffic and hate the venue (although for some reason Phish has always been great there). If they were playing Boston I would definitely go.
  11. I was reminded by several publications that today is the anniversary of the famous 10-27-79 Cape Cod Coliseum show. I was in the house for this one (and given events in the parking lot, we were very fortunate to make it inside). A very memorable day and night. Listening to the second set now at my desk. http://www.deadlistening.com/2008/09/1979-october-27-cape-cod-coliseum.html http://liveforlivemusic.com/features/must-listen-the-grateful-dead-jams-at-cape-cod-on-this-date-in-1979/
  12. Seeing them soon in the Orpheum in Boston. Will be my second time, but first in a theater like this. Looking forward to it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Just watched that. I love Courtney. Wonder how she came across in MSG last night.
  14. Thanks for the tip, I will check this out: http://www.jambase.com/Articles/126845/DVR-Rewind-Courtney-Barnett-On-CBS-Saturday-Sessions
  15. Did you get Saturday tix also? I know your Friday seats are perfect. 3 shows in 4 nights for me, I can't freakin wait. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. The Wang was will-call for all seats. Had to have kept the scalping down. Wonder why they just didn't announce both Orpheum shows at the outset. Would have reduced the mania of getting Friday tix when folks thought that was the only show.
  17. still lots of balcony and rear orch available for Orpheum
  18. I'm in for the Orpheum. I had pulled a pair in the pre-sale, Orch. L Row B. Went to the theater today to try to get better, was 3rd in line and pulled balcony, which I passed on. But I had my iPad with me and pulled a pair 3rd row center mezz., which I'm happy with. I was able to then get a second pair in the same row for friends. So standing on line for 75 minutes at the Orpheum did me no good, but I got decent seats so I'm in. roadhse, I'm curious, what rows did you get over the phone?
  19. I think what is irredeemably fucked up with Boston ticketing is that there's a very large demand. For a smallish venue. I've now given up on today's pre-sale. I had 3 different pairs come up, but none of them were to my liking so I let them all go by.
  20. Not haveing much luck with the Orpheum pre-sale. Got some high up balcony seats that I let go, and havent' been able to get anything else.
  21. Yes! But I'm not done in my quest to get into the lower orch. There's still tomorrow and Friday!
  22. Ended up getting 2 for the Orpheum, not terrible, not great. Right Orchestra Row B, seats 120 and 122, which is first row on the aisle cutting across the floor, but on other side of the ramp into the orchestra
  23. Great seats Tim, good for you. I can't get anything.
