  1. Speaking of '74 Dead, here's Stormy Mondays, '74 Dead part 4. http://www.jambase.com/Articles/122073/Stormy-Mondays-Grateful-Dead-1974-Retrospective-Part-4
  2. Been there several times but not in many years. Good to know they're still rockin in Hampton. Saw a few memorable Ramones shows there
  3. After several listens I am adding Fuego to my list. Looking forward to seeing Phish kick off the tour on Tuesday.
  4. DBT again? 2x in the last several months. A working night, or you a big DBT fan?
  5. I guess it's hypothetically possible, but in 2014 I can't believe people would talk about Glenn and Spencer in the same sentence. Glenn is one of my 2 favorite drummers in all of rock. That status doesn't come easy in my book. I've seen Spencer perform 1x, on a webcast to boot, so I'm no expert on him, but still.
  6. The current lineup is by far my favorite incarnation. As much as I love Nels' playing, that has a lot to do with Glenn. Sent from my PM23300 using Tapatalk
  7. I want everyone in the band. I'm not ready for change.
  8. Yes, I totally spaced on the Americanarama tour. I'm assuming we'll get 2 substantially different sets at Lockn, but I 'll be so happy to see Wilco again I won't care what they do. And with Weir's collaborations with Wilco and Nels' sit -ins with Phil, the possibilities for special shows are endless!
  9. Bitching about a Wilco setlist? Not me. I see 1-2 Wilco shows/year, how could I complain about the setlists? But the rustiness factor does concern me. I always feel like a band is best when you catch them about 5-10 shows into a tour. And this will be the first Wilco shows since when, Solid Sound? I'll be ready to see them at Lockn', I hope they'll be ready to play.
  10. Not to rain on the parade, or cause a crying fit, but I seriously doubt they'd be holding off on announcing other shows based on Lockn' ticket sales. They're not even a headliner there, and all the headliners have other shows announced all over the place.
  11. Thanks for the heads up on that, I was unaware. Looked at the list of books, there's a large number I'll want to read.
  12. What is the 33-1/3 book about Murmur? Haven't heard of that.
  13. That is hilarious! Dump him and go on your own.
  14. An old review re-tweeted this morning. Capitol Theater, 6-24-70. Apparently essential listening, I've never heard it. Will have to get it. http://www.deadlistening.com/2008/04/1970-june-24-capitol-theatre.html
  15. So far my list includes War on Drugs, Real Estate, Beck, Drive By Truckers. Hope to add Phish's Fuego to this list tomorrow.
  16. Chugging along in the REM book. Spinning this vinyl. Album #4, what an incredible run of first 4 albums. Right up there with the best ever. My wife and I were listening from the beginning, its been nice to read the book and go back and listen along and be reminded why we loved this band so much.
  17. Lockn' has posted that theirs will be Wilco's only 2014 "festival" performance. Sure looks like it will be the only 2014 Wilco performance of any kind.
  18. It's now officially summer, and the only Wilco on the calendar for the rest of the year remains their two appearances at Lockn' Festival the first weekend in September. It's been mentioned before, but I'm now beginning to think it's very strange that these are the only two Wilco dates, as if they're dropping in from another planet just for this festival. Even more so with today's announcement of Tweedy's European tour in November with tickets on sale this Friday. Looking more and more to me that there will be no other Wilco in the fall other than Lockn'. Maybe even for the rest of the ye
  19. Nels continues to be the man about town: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/blogs/alternate-take/wilcos-nels-cline-jams-with-the-les-paul-trio-in-new-york-20140618
  20. Trying to gather the energy to go see John Doe.
  21. I love a good matrix, here's a new one to hit the world. Beacon Theater, June 15, 1976 http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=572985 A special show for me and my friends. We were 18-19 years old, all back home together on LI after our freshman year in college. The level of excitement, not only were the Dead back after their retirement but they were playing the cozy confines of the Beacon instead of some hockey rink or outdoor stadium, was off the hook. We went to both Beacon shows, and then caught at least 2 more that summer in August at Colt Park, Hartford, and Roosevelt Stadium. Over t
  22. Part 3 of the Jambase Stormy Monday GD 1974 Retrospective. It's a doozy. http://www.jambase.com/Articles/121952/Stormy-Mondays-Grateful-Dead-1974-Retrospective-Part-3
