It's "An Evening With." Has to mean no opener. The last Evening With show I saw in 2010 was off the hook great. That's why I'm coming down from Boston. And the fact I've wanting to get to the Cap since it reopened. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Speaking of listening to shows we were at, got in my car the other day and the Sirius GD station was playing Uptown Theater Chicago, 11-18-78 as the full show of the day. Right in the middle of Fire. I couldn't get out of my car until the show finished. That was a memorable weekend. I was in college in St. Louis and a bunch of us took several cars up for the drive to Chicago for the weekend of shows at the Uptown. One of my good buddies from home came in from Ann Arbor. Crammed a lot of us into 2 adjoining hotel rooms on the Loop. The electricity was running rampant. Great shows at a gr

I think it's in the Solid Sound discussion thread, but a couple months ago I tracked down the video production company and they responded to my email and assured me the Solid Sound movie was being actively worked on every day.

TWEEDY live at BAM watching/listening party thread!!

Late to the party, tuned in for the last full band song before he went solo. Now just found this thread. Have it playing on the big screen and stereo system. Production's been great, music fantastic. Loved this song (Give Back the Key to my Heart) at Lockn' with Willie Nelson's harmonica player. I'm good with the Lucius singers. -
Fantastic interview! One of the best I've read. Particularly liked the last paragraph about the dynamics in a Wilco show. Perfectly said. Kudos!

New Tiny Desk Concert with Jeff and Spencer
worldrecordplayer replied to Magnetized's topic in Just A Fan
I loved it. First time I've watched a performance of any of the new material, the songs really stood out to me. Plus, we got to hear Jeff's and Spencer's plans for ISIS! -
Excellent piece with JT expounding on songwriting

The writer called Sukierae a "two disc tour de force." (just put that in the other thread before seeing this one) Sent from my Windows Phone using Tapatalk -
That's not really a proper record review, but an interview with Jeff about the songwriting process. But that line is accurately quoted.

I heard some of 12-30-82 today on Sirius, mostly Franklin's. That's an era I was off the bus and never listen to. It was fantastic. I agree with Raspberry, has always frustrated me that Sirius doesn't identify individual songs. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I agree that Dylan's Love & Theft and Modern Times are excellent releases by someone over 50. But the point is well taken, I'm struggling to think of someone else who kept a creative spark burning at that age. What about David Byrne? I've lost track of his work (I'm still mad at him for breaking up the Heads) but I know his work with St. Vincent received lots of praise. Lucinda? She must be over 50. She's still putting out new material, nothing on the order of Car Wheels though. What I've heard of her soon to be released new album sounded great. The Los Lobos guys. Tin Ca

Yes, the fact that W(TA) songs were performed and then deleted from the Roadcase shows has to mean there's a legal copyright or royalty issue.

Hey, I heard the Wall of Sound at my first GD show, holds a special place in my heart. But seriously, the sound was awesome and I've never noticed anything with the vocals in any of the shows I've heard, or in the GD movie which I've watched and listened to tons of times. Catching up on some of the previous discussions about suggested shows/eras, I suggest anything from '73. My favorite single year. If you can get the Winterland '73 box, get it. Or see if you can still download Mile High in Denver, a compilation that was posted on Hidden Track. As for later years, I'm all about the Ho

Just saw 3 hours of Wilco at Lockn'. No W(TA) songs played, again. Has to be some legal issue, I can't figure out what the issue would be that only impacts this album. And clearly they aren't talking about it. Something in the fine print of some legal document that relates only to the royalties on this release. Can't remember ever hearing anything like this before.
