Geez, and I made all those requests for Summer Teeth for Wednesday! My internet must be slow, those requests obviously didn't arrive until today. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Wilco 10/29/14 Capitol Theatre - Port Chester, NY

The "you're a much better looking crowd tonight" banter got a little awkward, as Jeff noted. I thought his "the show will never end, we'll keep playing and then take a break and be here tomorrow" was pretty funny. While the crowd may have been less upbeat than the previous night (I was only there last night), the crowd was quick to react when he hinted the show will end at some point. -

I thought something happened and a song got cut. Nels switched guitars and was ready to play another song as Tweedy put his guitar down and the band walked off. Too bad, would have loved to have heard I'm Always in Love. -
If anybody's looking for a place to meet and eat and be merry before the show tonight, we went to Coal's pre-show last night. On N. Main, very close by. Great beers (beer and wine only, so you boozers beware!) and excellent thin crust pizzas and salads. Small place, get there by 6:00 or so.

Like Wilco Me says, make your plans. Getting festival tickets is the least of the problems.

Wilco 10/29/14 Capitol Theatre - Port Chester, NY

Back in MA, after my first visit to the Cap. I was sitting 4th row of the balcony, dead center. I would have preferred standing and dancing on the floor for Wilco, but my buddy got the tickets and as a vet of many Cap shows really wanted to sit in the lower balcony. That may work better for a Phil show to sit and take it all in, but for Wilco... Oh well, I danced and rocked in my seat all night. The sound is superb in the Cap. Totally what I expected, Peter Shapiro had phenomenal sound systems at Lockn'. The crowd was "mellow" upstairs, very few people standing, but I would say the crow -

What a great back to back run for you! Kicking myself I made 2 separate trips down from Boston and didn't plan well enough to catch the last allmans show and then Wilco in a single trip. Also kicking myself that I'm not staying for another Wilco show. Have fun tonight everybody! Still plenty of songs to be played. Should be great. Although I'm sure last night was the best looking audience night of all -

Some quick hits as I recover with a post show beer and baseball: Wow! to both Wilco and the Capitol Theatre. On paper, preferred tuesday night list, but Every song was played as if they wanted it to be the best ever. First time at the Cap, as great a venue as I expected it to be. Wilco is so on top of their game, its jawdropping. Sent from my Windows Phone using Tapatalk -
18th Anniversary of the release of Being There

Big thanks to the kind person who fixed the title of this topic! Sent from my Windows Phone using Tapatalk -
Great way to drive! I landed at the Portchester hotel a little into the third set. Thought about staying in the car but I came inside. Great show! David Fricke has a nice piece about it in Rolling Stone http://www.rollingstone.com/music/live-reviews/the-allman-brothers-band-take-a-final-bow-at-epic-beacon-theatre-show-20141029

18th Anniversary of the release of Being There
worldrecordplayer replied to worldrecordplayer's topic in Just A Fan
Right! How did I miss that??? That is not being "technical" I just looked, I came up with 20 because someone else commented that it was the 20 year anniversary. No excuse. Guess I should take this topic down. I don't know how to change the topic heading, I can either "lock" it or "delete" the topic, but can't edit it. I'm getting in the car to hear to Portchester, so I guess it will stay up as the 20th Anniversary. My bad, so embarrassing ! -
My understanding from the way they announced the times today is that they are playing the entire show. We'll soon see. I'll be in my car at noon ready to listen as I drive to Portchester.

According to Wilco's post on Facebook, today marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Being There. Surely a historical event that deserves its own topic here on VC! Still recall my first listen. This album never gets old to me. Consistently blows my mind each time I listen to it today as much as it did 20 years ago. Hope they give it a good run at the Cap tonight. Admin edit: While Wilco are celebrating their 20th anniversary (1st show: 11-17-94) Being There is celebrating its 18th year. A bit confusing. I fixed the thread title for you, wrp.

"By pushing the show into October 29 they ended the night on the 43rd anniversary of Duane Allman’s passing." http://www.relix.com/news/detail/allman_brothers_take_final_bow_at_beacon_theatre_with_three_set_show

Apparently Trouble No More was the first song they played as a band, so that's how they ended.

So psyched I get to type these words: An Evening With Wilco! Getting in the car at noon right in time to listen to the Sirius rebroadcast of last night's Allmans show. That should power me from Boston to Portchester. Then Wilco. Looking forward to today. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I'm with Lammy on both counts. I'll add that the gear book may be my favorite of all rock n roll books. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Following Alan Paul's Twitter feed for live set list. Seems like a barn burner going on at the Beacon. Also following the Capitol Theatre set list Twitter feed, what a set list from Wilco. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Going tomorrow night. Can't believe what I'm seeing for tonight's set list from the Capitol Theatre Twitter feed. This is why seeing multiple shows is always what I've done, kicking myself I'm not doing that tonight. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Last show tonight, wish I was there. What a run of shows I could have in NY this week, Allmans at Beacon Monday and Tuesday, Wilco at Cap Theater Tues, Wed and Thurs. Then Phil and Friends at the Cap Friday and Saturday (with Nels on Saturday) http://www.jambase.com/Articles/123159/Video-CBS-This-Morning-Profiles-Allman-Brothers-Band

Funny, I'm expecting it to be great! Don't know why, just am.

Cream was one of the first '60's bands u took a liking to as a very young kid. My sister is 9 years older and she lived the '60's. She was coming home with all these great albums as they were being released. I was like 10 years old. Disraeli Gears connected quickly with me, couldn't resist Sunshine of Your Love. I never truly appreciated what a great bass player he was until much later in life. Sent from my Windows Phone using Tapatalk

I listened to that "amazing passage" on disc 4 over the weekend. So good. Give it a spin.

Allmans (really Warren I'm sure) paid tribute during their show Saturday night http://www.jambase.com/Articles/123135/Allman-Brothers-Band-Pay-Tribute-To-Jack-Bruce-At-Beacon Before I saw this I was bothered leaving Fleetwood Mac show Saturday night that they said and did nothing. And 2 of the founding members were countrymen and contemporaries of Bruce. Not a word, although they found plenty of time to talk about themselves. Then I got home and saw that the Allmans did Politician, and was even more pissed at FM. More tributes performed Saturday http://www.jambase.com/Articles/123138
