Couch touring PhilRAD from the Capitol Theatre. Does that count as "Live! Tonight!"? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

The final Stormy Mondays column is a good one, keeping with the '74 theme, the second set from the "final" show, 10-20-74. I assume everyone's heard this, but if not check it out, and if so, no harm in listening again! http://www.jambase.com/Articles/123665/Stormy-Mondays-The-First-Final-Grateful-Dead-Show

Bummed I missed that Television show. #1 miss of the year for me.

Tweedy, Stipe and Paul Krugman. Three of my heroes.

Pitchfork podcast about What's Your 20? and AMF. (Posted this in the Pitchfork review topic, sorry for the double post if that violates any rule!) http://downloads.pitchforkmedia.com.s3.amazonaws.com/podcasts/Pitchfork_Podcast_41__Wilco.mp3

Haven't seen this mentioned here, was going to post this in the Wilco Heard Out and About topic, my son gave me a head's up to this Pitchfork podcast on AMF and What's Your Twenty. http://downloads.pitchforkmedia.com.s3.amazonaws.com/podcasts/Pitchfork_Podcast_41__Wilco.mp3 Pretty good discussion, don't agree with all of it but that's to be expected. At one point one of the guys refers to Tweedy as "a competent songwriter." Or something like that. Understatement of the year? Sort of like calling the '27 Yankees a "pretty good" team.

Should have made that clear- the poster artist, Gary Grimshaw. I have hanging at home a GD promo photo from Arista from the In the Dark promo signed by Garcia and Weir.

In no particular order (actually, chronologically as I'm going through my 2014 concerts journal), all shows in Boston area unless noted: 1. Camper Van and Cracker, January 17, always a highlight show for me 2. Soulive/Bowlive, March 19 (with Susan Tedeschi and Joe Russo) 3. Drive By Truckers, March 21 (first time seeing them) 4. War on Drugs, April 17 (another first time) 5. Warren Haynes and Boston Pops playing the music of Jerry Garcia, May 15 6. Lockn' (can I list the entire festival-and exclude Willie Nelson and Petty)-fantastic 4 days of music for me 7.Tweedy 8. Allmans at Beacon, Octob

Love this show. Mostly because I have a signed framed poster hanging in my office Yes indeed! I was there, another memorable day/night.

I was at that Lucinda show at HOB. The Friday night of second weekend. Charlie Sexton sat in. I have some good photos. -
I don't get the Joan Jett induction, but that's just me. I have no problem with Green Day being inducted.

Last time Wilco played JF, there were no night shows or band members sitting in with anyone as i recall. Wilco came, conquered and moved on. -

Yeah, both weekends at the Fairgrounds would never happen. Was happy to see them there in 2011 (or was it '12?). A festival set is never as satisfying as a full blown headlining show, but since I'm going anyway, might as well have Wilco on the Acura stage. I don't see how they could play one of the smaller clubs at night. Could you imagine them in the Maple Leaf, or Howlin' Wolf? Folks would be hanging from the rafters. The place I'd like to see them at for a JazzFest night show is the Mahalia Jackson Theater. Saw Mule there in '13, love the venue (and one of the best Mule shows I've ev -
Never mind, just called HOB for set times and they told me Soulive goes on at 8:00! Woohooo!

Soulive is playing the Paradise on January 2, so I'm wondering if that wouldn't prevent them from playing Boston tonight as a matter of their contract. But Lettuce is available!

Not happy to read this news. But not unprecedented. At the first Solid Sound, Wilco did not play Friday night (there was no major headliner). Wilco played only Saturday night, and Tweedy did a solo acoustic set to close it out on Sunday afternoon. I don't care who they bring in, I would prefer to see two full Wilco sets Friday and Saturday night. But I'm going Either Way.

Me too, very mysterious: Boston Opener Surprise TTB’s final two shows of 2014 are at the House of Blues in Boston on December 12 and 13, and we’re doing something different that we hope you’ll enjoy. We’ve booked an amazing opening act for each night, but we’re keeping them secret until the curtain comes up on the night of the show. Your only hint: both bands/artists have collaborated with TTB before. Trust us, you won’t want to miss either one, so be sure to show up early and get ready for a great night of music. I haven't spent a lot of time thinking about this yet, but Krasno comes to

I love seeing bands that I love play covers. The choice in songs speaks to me about them as musicians, and people. There's millions of songs written that don't get played, why not have a band you like to see play some of them? And as for SS '13, I've read here comments of several folks who were disappointed with the all cover Friday night show. I don't know what to say about that, as that night was one of the most fun nights of live music I've had in decades of seeing shows.- 216 replies
