  1. Do it! Can never go wrong seeing Jack and Jorma. And give them one "Hot Fuckin Tuna" for me and the gang from the Academy of Music days.
  2. First and foremost, I would love to have 2 Wilco sets, Friday and Saturday nights. All else is gravy.
  3. So many great possibilities to think about. Besides the obvious euphoria of having the 'Mats or Television play, I love the idea of Richard Thompson, in any format. And my personal favorite choice would be Los Lobos. Hidalgo played last year and remarked what a fabulous place it was to play, so hoping they can get the full band there for '15.
  4. Yes. I see you Got your Spiders electric arrangement tonight. Or as @phortin says, " fuck yes". Looking forward to hearing it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Stupid me, I didn't even look here to join in to the listening party. That would have been fun. Was a rough day here in my house with the passing of my wife's mom in the morning, but by the time Wilco hit the stage our kids were here and listening to the entire show was a great and well needed uplift in spirits. And Wilco sounded great!
  6. It did. Almost as much as opening with Boys Are Back in Town the previous night! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. I don't go to the rail. I'm happy being at the soundboard. It has been different over the years (subject to my memory). I think SS 1 or 2, they opened the gates to Joe's Field on Saturday at like 5:00, a little while before whoever was playing in front of Wilco. My memory is that at the last SS they opened the field much earlier, maybe all day. I could be wrong about all that. There's a lot of stuff going on all day and exhibits to see. I like checking out the music, my wife plants herself in the comedy show and we meet up and check out everything.
  8. JazzFest does that also. The difference for me being there we are going from stage to stage to tent to tent, usually moving around every hour or so. At SS, from the time they open the gates to Joe's Field until the time Wilco comes on is many hours, I just can't stand that entire time. So I have a chair to sit, which i pack up when Wilco comes on.
  9. Would like to be seeing Wilco in Chicago, but tonight I'll be seeing the Trey Anastasio Band in Boston.
  10. That's why for the '60's shows he announced they will do a second set of more usual Phil and Friends sets. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Yes, SS 1 and 2 were both more of a "family affair" so to speak. But I don't remember having issues with the larger crowd at 3, but I see that there were.
  12. I very much doubt they are looking to sell fewer tickets. I heard the promoter took a loss with the first SS. The 2013 had more people, but I still didn't find it too crowded. I had no issues at all with the size of the crowd. Perhaps we were spoiled with the first SS
  13. My oh my, how things can change. I was all gloomy when I opened this topic on June 23, even though I was going to Lockn' and would see Wilco 2x there. But those would be non-headlining festival sets, and I was jonesing for some full out Wilco shows and more Wilco music. Since starting this thread, I got to see the 2 Wilco sets at Lockn', a fantastic Tweedy show at Berklee in Boston, and one Evening With show in Portchester. Wilco came through with a fall tour, 3 nights in Portchester (and the Roadcase releases), and now Winterlude starting tonight (with a free audio stream) preceded by las
  14. First 6 songs same as the Wednesday show at the Cap. Which I just coincidentally happened to listen to on my way into work this morning.
  15. Did everyone see Phil's announcement yesterday? To mark the 50th, Phil's doing 2 shows a month at Terrapin Station, with each show marking a different year in the band's history, starting with (I forget which) 1965 or '66.
  16. $312? That announcement says prime seats priced at $250-$275 (depending on the market)
  17. Lots of Wilco fans on the Backstreets site? Had no idea.
  18. Either Sunday (according to the headline) or Saturday (according to the body of the article), WXRT will be live streaming audio. http://www.jambase.com/Articles/123454/Couch-Tour-Alert-Wilco-Live-From-Chicago-This-Sunday
