  1. I very much doubt they are looking to sell fewer tickets. I heard the promoter took a loss with the first SS. The 2013 had more people, but I still didn't find it too crowded. I had no issues at all with the size of the crowd. Perhaps we were spoiled with the first SS
  2. My oh my, how things can change. I was all gloomy when I opened this topic on June 23, even though I was going to Lockn' and would see Wilco 2x there. But those would be non-headlining festival sets, and I was jonesing for some full out Wilco shows and more Wilco music. Since starting this thread, I got to see the 2 Wilco sets at Lockn', a fantastic Tweedy show at Berklee in Boston, and one Evening With show in Portchester. Wilco came through with a fall tour, 3 nights in Portchester (and the Roadcase releases), and now Winterlude starting tonight (with a free audio stream) preceded by las
  3. First 6 songs same as the Wednesday show at the Cap. Which I just coincidentally happened to listen to on my way into work this morning.
  4. Did everyone see Phil's announcement yesterday? To mark the 50th, Phil's doing 2 shows a month at Terrapin Station, with each show marking a different year in the band's history, starting with (I forget which) 1965 or '66.
  5. $312? That announcement says prime seats priced at $250-$275 (depending on the market)
  6. Lots of Wilco fans on the Backstreets site? Had no idea.
  7. Either Sunday (according to the headline) or Saturday (according to the body of the article), WXRT will be live streaming audio. http://www.jambase.com/Articles/123454/Couch-Tour-Alert-Wilco-Live-From-Chicago-This-Sunday
  8. Streaming live either Sunday (headline) or Saturday (body or article) http://www.jambase.com/Articles/123454/Couch-Tour-Alert-Wilco-Live-From-Chicago-This-Sunday
  9. Did they play as the "J.Geils Band"? Without Geils. It's widely known there was a lot of antagonism between Wolf and Geils over the split up, to the point where Jay Geils could not perform under the name "J. Geils."
  10. No way to pick just one. I went to only one, but consider all 3 as "must haves." If for any reason you're only going to purchase just one, might as well spin the bottle on that decision and whichever comes up you'll be fine.
  11. Thanksgiving and healing love to Sue and the entire Tweedy clan!
  12. I only know of Return of the Grievous Angel. Which I love, Didn't know there was another one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Return_of_the_Grievous_Angel:_A_Tribute_to_Gram_Parsons
  13. Not only that, but Phil Lesh and Friends was moving into the Cap the next night to start his weekend residency, so many saw it as a touching "handoff" to Phil and the Dead crowd. A hugely classy move by Wilco to my eyes. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Did you see this Philly show? http://www.stereogum.com/1720422/watch-ryan-adams-berate-a-fan-after-her-camera-flash-triggers-menieres-episode/video/
  15. For someone who seemed so old at the time, looking back he was so freaking young. Ugh.
  16. I obviously don't read enough of Pitchfork.
  17. I had no idea Pitchfork had a writer who is a huge Phish fan. I was surprised to read this Tweedy quote: "Even the singer himself recently admitted that their last record, 2011’s The Whole Love, "was taken for granted a little bit, not necessarily by critics, maybe by ourselves." They toured extensively behind the album and I never detect any ambivalence when they play those songs. I like TWL a lot, one of my faves.
  18. I always park in the open air lot next ro Boston Beer Works any time I go to HOB. Easy in, easy out. I will be at the Orpheum tonight, have fun everybody.
  19. Lucinda tonight. Tough going back to back and having to work too!
  20. Whoa, what was going on in the orchestra? We were in second row of balcony and couldn't tell. Is Ryan always that way with his stage talk? First time seeing him. Some serious cursing at an audience member. The music was fantastic. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. He has a song called "Chrissie Hynde." Geez, he has to be great! https://www.youtube.com/user/butchwalker
  22. I was trying to figure out about the opener, Butch Walker. I don't know anything about him, but in a Rolling Stone piece just the other day: "as a solo artist regularly delivers one of the most thrilling live concert experiences,"
