I scored a ticket for her next show at The Sinclair, very psyched.

This topic needs a bump. Got introduced to Courtney Barnett a few weeks ago (by my 25 year old son-nice to have the wheel spin 'round), and I've become pretty obsessed with her since. Been listening to the Double EP and the iTunes sessions, and lots of live footage on YouTube. She seems to be breaking out all over right now with the release of her first label release, Sometimes I Sit and Think and Sometimes I Just Sit. Great reviews for the album, and I concur. JazzFest cubes are out, Wilco headlines the Gentilly Stage on the first Thursday.

Today is the 41st anniversary of the debut of the Wall of Sound. A moment of silence. Listened to the Playing >UJB>Dew>UJB >Playing palindrome on Sirius on the way home tonight. I was fortunate to have seen/heard the Wall of Sound once. A memorable occasion.

Bummed they're skipping MA, and all of New England really. And no fall tour. Looks like a couch tour Phish year for me.

I got it on the pre-order the second it went up. Glad I didn't hesitate.

I have to confess, I didn't notice anything unusual about that line, "pitch a tent" is a common camping phrase to me. I had to go to urbandictionary.com to see what you're talking about

My first (or second) show, the Chambers Brothers, 1970 or '71, Time Has Come Today. That was a big song at summer camp in the late '60's, seeing them do it in the round at Westbury Music Fair on the Love Peace and Happiness tour was memorable, my first "big" song heard live.

I think Charlotte Sometimes is a great song. Maybe my favorite Cure song, I had the 12 " single of it (still do) used to listen to it endlessly.

I've always had Deadicated, haven't listened to it in a many years, will give it a spin, thanks for the reminder. Those Hunter interviews in RS were excellent.

Totally agree with the recommendation of the GD Movie soundtrack. Also, can't go wrong with most any show from the summer Wall of Sound tour. For official releases, there's Road Trips Vol. 2 No. 3, Des Moines and Louisville. And DP vol. 12, Providence and Boston June 1974. And my personal favorite (and not just because it was my first GD show), Roosevelt Stadium 8-6-74, a monster show.
