Bummed they're skipping MA, and all of New England really. And no fall tour. Looks like a couch tour Phish year for me.

I got it on the pre-order the second it went up. Glad I didn't hesitate. -
I have to confess, I didn't notice anything unusual about that line, "pitch a tent" is a common camping phrase to me. I had to go to urbandictionary.com to see what you're talking about

The First Great Song You Heard in Concert
worldrecordplayer replied to roadhse ma's topic in Someone Else's Song
My first (or second) show, the Chambers Brothers, 1970 or '71, Time Has Come Today. That was a big song at summer camp in the late '60's, seeing them do it in the round at Westbury Music Fair on the Love Peace and Happiness tour was memorable, my first "big" song heard live. -
The First Great Song You Heard in Concert

I think Charlotte Sometimes is a great song. Maybe my favorite Cure song, I had the 12 " single of it (still do) used to listen to it endlessly. -
Been listening to and watching a lot of Courtney Barnett recently, having been recently turned on to her. Really looking forward to the new album and seeing her soon.

75, and still going strong. I'm in MA and not at the Cap tonight, but will celebrate by watching some of this show with Trey and Modeski http://youtu.be/ufhm-A-VYWI Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Good call on Lobos. They also totally rock out Bertha.

I've always had Deadicated, haven't listened to it in a many years, will give it a spin, thanks for the reminder. Those Hunter interviews in RS were excellent.

Totally agree with the recommendation of the GD Movie soundtrack. Also, can't go wrong with most any show from the summer Wall of Sound tour. For official releases, there's Road Trips Vol. 2 No. 3, Des Moines and Louisville. And DP vol. 12, Providence and Boston June 1974. And my personal favorite (and not just because it was my first GD show), Roosevelt Stadium 8-6-74, a monster show. Don't get the official release of that, they chopped it up with the previous Philly show. I can hook you up with a great copy. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Thanks, I hadn't seen a Wilco email or FB announcement. My friends in LA thank you as well.

What is this about? Announced anywhere?

Dusted off my 2-24-74 Winterland discs today. That Dark Star>Dew is something to behold.

It's there, very subtle in the background, but Bobby definitely plays that opening sequence Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I've said it at various times in several outlets, but I'll just say it here as a wrap. I am totally fine with the lineup. First of all, WIlco x2 and Tweedy is all I need. But the lineup has enough interesting and divergent choices to keep me interested, and I don't know half the artists announced. (I was very impressed how quickly folks were able to identify all those artists I've never heard of). I'm not feeling any need for a "bigger" name draw. In fact, just the opposite. This is a Wilco family festival. From the artists I'm familiar with (RT, Real Estate, King Sunny, NRBQ, and the c

I don't know where RT will be placed, but I'm also fully expecting Tweedy/Jeff and Friends to close the festival as at the first SS. I'm thinking King Sunny Ade will "open" for Wilco on Joe's Field on Saturday. They will have the field up and dancing. Just my gut.

White Denim opened for them on a California swing a few years ago, and then they played the last SS.

Anyone who has not seen Richard Thompson perform is in for a treat. Don't miss him. A guitar and songwriting whiz. Watching him perform '52 Vincent Black Lightning will drop your jaw.
-
Excellent comedy lineup also, which will please my wife as she always spends Saturday in the comedy show. Jessica Williams!

Los Lobos. Always a fun night for me.
