The Jam (glad to be reminded I don't listen to enough Jam these days): Going Underground That's Entertainment Town Called Malice Eaton Rifles In the City I'll have to do a Drive By Trucker's list, which will definitely include Carl Perkins' Cadillac. So far omitted from all DBT lists. -
Three Most Underrated Wilco Songs?

I'll add to my list: Country Disappeared Summer Teeth (because it's my #1 favorite Wilco song and I don't know of anyone else who would say that) -
Listening to this right now. Love the intro by the guy who had never heard them as of 2 nights earlier but now knows they are "the best fucking rock n roll band in the whole world" Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

That's what I've been thinking ever since rumors of these shows started circulating. If I lived in the Bay Area and shelled out all that $$ for airfare, hotel, etc. to go to Chicago for what were clearly billed as the last and only shows, I'd be freaking pissed. And I share your East Coast blues. They should have planned this out to do west coast, Chicago and east coast venues from the beginning.

well that makes a lot more sense He was great in Treme (a favorite show of mine). I forgot he was on The Wire (another favorite), what season? Seen him a few times, but not in a long while.

I caught the next night at the Orpheum (where they announced the first Solid Sound), one of my top 5 shows of all time. -
I think this is a new add, Friday July 10, Des Moines, headlining a festival

The WilcoWorld shows page only goes up to August 16, so my fingers are still crossed for another Lockn' appearance (or 2)

Three Most Underrated Wilco Songs?
worldrecordplayer replied to IRememberDBoon's topic in Just A Fan
at 2nd SSF? I was there but didn't catch the sound check, but I was in line outside MassMoca the year they did the benefit show and was able to hear the soundcheck and am almost certain they soundchecked Say You Miss Me then too. I could be completely wrong about that, but that's my best memory. -
I saw them for the first time around the same time, maybe a year or so later (must have been right when Murmur was released), in a gym at Harvard, with Husker Du opening. I don't know if it was $5, but it wasn't much more. They were my wife's and my favorite band for many years. I still listen to R.E.M. more than every once in a while, and every time I do just freaks me out how great they were and how much I love their music. Same with my wife.

Three Most Underrated Wilco Songs?
worldrecordplayer replied to IRememberDBoon's topic in Just A Fan
"Underrated" is a hard term to define. For instance, I would never consider Handshake Drugs to be underrated. Or Wishful Thinking, or many other songs nominated so far. One song I think is underrated (by any interpretation of the word) is You Never Know. I love the song, but I've read lots of negative comments about it here, hence my feeling it's underrated. Right now I really can't think of any others, I'm sure one or two may come to me at some point. -

I will listen and watch a lot of R.E.M. today to celebrate! One of my all time faves. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Love all those unnamed thematic jams that would pop up every once in a while. Add Spanish Jam and Mind Left Body Jam to the list. At the time I didn't appreciate how fortunate I was to catch a Spanish Jam at my first GD show. I think one of the best known Feelin' Groovy jams is from the famous 2-13-70 Dark Star

The concept that Wilco's cancellation in protest of this law is the "artist as coward" is completely lost on me.

It was great. Would not have wanted to be anywhere else.

BTW, what is the status of "guests" here? Can anyone get in and read the forum topics without being a member? I don't care, just wondering.

Just started listening while eating lunch. It's raining pretty good during I Might.

Hot Tuna is playing Lockn' again. Jack and Jorma are also separately doing a set honoring 50 Years of JA, with GE Smith, Larry Campbell, Teresa Williams, Rachel Price "and others." I've been hoping the "others" would include Paul and Marty. Probably more likely that they would have been named and "the others" are musicians from other bands already on the schedule. Hoping for a full recovery for Kantner no matter what. http://www.locknfestival.com/artists-2015/jorma-and-jack-celebrate-fifty-years-of-jefferson-airplane
