  1. Oh no! This is a big bummer for me,was really looking forward to his set.
  2. Yes, it's only Monday. NE weather forecasters have no idea what's going to happen on Friday-Sunday. That won't stop me from obsessively checking the forecasts though.
  3. Yes, chance of rain in the forecast Friday and Sunday, but miniscule amounts. Friday just 0.04 inch. and Sunday just 0.2. At least I think those are miniscule amounts.
  4. Having watched it a second time, I thought the movie was OK. I guess I had high expectations that in reality just weren't met. I would have preferred more Wilco concert footage. But, the film did a good job conveying the spirit and vibe of SS. I liked the "still" shots of the crowd, I'm always interested to get a read on the other fans of whatever group I'm seeing. Seeing those shots made me feel like I was back at SS more than anything. As to one of the other comments here, I liked the Jen Kirkman footage, I'm a fan.
  5. I don't know where that rule of fashion comes from. Myself, growing up (and still ) in the Grateful Dead scene, folks sported GD related tees all over the place. With all that iconographic art, the tee shirts were always a nice touch. I still get people stop me when I wear my Wolf tee shirt. Anyhow, I'll likely be sporting a Wilco shirt on at least one of the days. My goal is to make it into Tim's 2015 Solid Sound Wilco tee shirt photo gallery
  6. Richard Thompson played The Wilbur in Boston on Saturday night. In one of the only instances where RT played Boston in the last couple of decades, I chose not to go and save myself for Solid Sound. Obviously a mistake. http://www.bostonglobe.com/arts/music/2015/06/21/richard-thompson-dazzles-wilbur/2NwjscdC6fcm4Ac3Z32aTO/story.html
  7. Giving a spin to disc 5 of the Winterland '73 box, specifically the Playin > UJB > Dew > UJB > Playin segment. Has to be among the best of the Grateful Dead to my ears. Can't get enough 73 Dead. The audio for this box is crazy good. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Heavy on the "Jaw" I notice, Jawbreaker and Jawbox. Are they related?
  9. Also surprised, but I guess the point is to show the stress of learning and rehearsing all those tunes. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk I could have used more Wilco and less Foxygen. The film does an excellent job of capturing the SS vibe. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. To watch it on your Apple TV Vimeo app, did you first have to go to Vimeo on a computer to purchase it? And then watch it on Apple TV? Just watched the bonus trailer of the all covers show. That is great! Almost all of Cut Your Hair.
  11. Mine, first 6 are in order, the rest are in a general flow of an order: the Dead Allman Brothers Wilco R.E.M. Phish Hot Tuna Beatles Stones Los Lobos Talking Heads Clash Lucinda Jefferson Airplane Pretenders Tedeschi Trucks Band Replacements The Band Richard Thompson Gov't Mule Neil Young Derek and the Dominos Cracker Traffic Social D Soulive Ryan Adams X Galactic George Clinton/P-Funk Creedence
  12. You have a shockingly high amount of bands I've never heard of! Which, by this point, shouldn't shock me, but it still does.
  13. Listening to the new one, Restless Ones, right now. Sounding great. Will have to digest a little before I put up my 5 HB faves.
  14. I Got You (at the end of the century) just now on Morning Joe
  15. I know it's obnoxious to quote myself, but just as I was wondering what I was going to listen to today and feeling the need for something new, the recent Wilco show from St. Louis becomes available for download. So I'm set for a few days. My continuing love of listening to music gets constantly re-charged not just from listening to new artists (about which there's been a lot of focus in this discussion) but new music from older artists I already follow, such as the recent Lucinda, the upcoming Jason Isbell and Richard Thompson, and discovering bands who have been around for a while who I hap
  16. I had no idea this same article is in the liner notes of DP 31. I've been holding onto this newspaper since 1974, its made every move with me. I never bought this DP release because they cut up the show and didn't release it in its entirety, so with such an excellent soundboard in circulation never felt the need to get it.
  17. My age is getting up there, but not my love of music. In fact, the opposite. I find myself more and more just wanting to stay home and listen to music then go out with friends, most of whom in my current life are not music fans, a situation I have never had and frustrates me to no end. Over the last few years I've spent some money and upgraded my home system with a new turntable, cd player and now new (used) speakers. The system rocks, which is why I never want to leave my house. No Spotify, sonos, Pandora or other subscription music bullshit for me (at least not at home). As for new mus
  18. I access Vimeo via my Apple TV box, not sure how I download, but I'll stream it if i have to
  19. anyone else who wants to read it just send me an email address and I'll send it out
  20. Yeah, its time! Not sure what they mean about a digital pre-order? Isn't Vimeo a streaming site?
  21. The earlier chatter about Roosevelt Stadium 8-6-74 caused me to dig through my GD memorabilia and pull out this long piece about the Philly and Jersey City shows from some underground newspaper (they don't have those anymore). I've saved this all these years and was able to copy to 8 1/2 x 11 and scan it to a pdf., so in case anyone has some extra time (and strong eyes), it's an interesting read, and a good artifact of the times. Only thing is I can't figure out how to attach the pdf file here, I don't think I can, but I have it if anyone wants it.
  22. Was the Salon piece I linked the entire Tweedy chapter, or is there more in the book?
  23. Loved this piece by Nick Offerman "Jeff Tweedy is really nice. Jeff Tweedy is really smart. And Jeff Tweedy is really, really cute. He’s what the young ladies of a bygone era would refer to as a “dreamboat.” For my money, he’s also the preeminent American singer-songwriter of my generation. Finally, I would add that I am in love with him. We are getting married. The end." http://www.salon.com/2015/06/07/nick_offerman_jeff_tweedy_is_the_best_songwriter_of_my_generation_and_i_want_to_marry_him/ http://www.salon.com/2015/06/07/nick_offerman_jeff_tweedy_is_the_best_songwriter_of_my_
  24. We're you hearing the other stage during Ryan Adams? I read he was a little pissed. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
