  1. SS '15 did not disappoint. Each Wilco/Tweedy show was top notch. I came away very impressed with Real Estate, would see them anytime. Only negative note was the constant long lines for food. More people this year, but waiting an hour to get a burrito is not cool. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Great Sunday afternoon show. Tweedy band sounded awesome. As did Mr. Jeff solo, and with all the friends. Perfect. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. I will also comment about the sound. At each SS I am simply amazed how crystal clear the sound is. In the open air, subject to wind and all the elements. For every Joe's Field set I've been in the sweet spot about 20 feet in front of the board. Always perfect sound.
  4. Heading home now. Agree with all the comments. Jeff promised they would "bring the rock." Made good on that and then some. There must be a separate topic for today's finale, wow, what a way to finish.
  5. Yes but with everyone wearing rain gear how is Tim going to shoot the SS '15 Wilco tee shirt collection?
  6. Steven Hyden on Jason Isbell, with commentary by Jason himself http://grantland.com/hollywood-prospectus/the-most-gut-wrenching-jason-isbell-songs-with-guest-commentary-by-jason-isbell/
  7. I am trying, unsuccessfully, to not let it deflate my energy in the run up to SS. But after 2 years of waiting for the return of SS, and after all this dry weather, I just want to scream.
  8. Great! Thanks for sharing, I missed that one.
  9. I hate to be a bummer, but the weather forecast is worsening. Bring your rain gear. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=42.70014807357586&lon=-73.20896846142455&site=all&smap=1#.VYsQSVI-Yg4
  10. The cover of Cannonball by the Breeders is pretty sweet http://www.onionstudios.com/videos/courtney-barnett-covers-the-breeders-2301
  11. Well, if I've already been obsessed with CB and her music over the last couple of months, her stock has now risen even higher in my book. This entire broadcast rings true to me, starting with the cross-generational appeal of her music. I started taking my kids to shows when they were 9 and 7. In a "what goes around comes around" way, a few months ago, my now 25 year old son emailed me the he had gotten a drop of the new CB album and he strongly recommended I check it out. He also sent me a link to the Steven Hyden piece on her on Grantland. I was sold. Quickly got the double EP and Sometim
  12. Oh no! This is a big bummer for me,was really looking forward to his set.
  13. Yes, it's only Monday. NE weather forecasters have no idea what's going to happen on Friday-Sunday. That won't stop me from obsessively checking the forecasts though.
  14. Yes, chance of rain in the forecast Friday and Sunday, but miniscule amounts. Friday just 0.04 inch. and Sunday just 0.2. At least I think those are miniscule amounts.
  15. Having watched it a second time, I thought the movie was OK. I guess I had high expectations that in reality just weren't met. I would have preferred more Wilco concert footage. But, the film did a good job conveying the spirit and vibe of SS. I liked the "still" shots of the crowd, I'm always interested to get a read on the other fans of whatever group I'm seeing. Seeing those shots made me feel like I was back at SS more than anything. As to one of the other comments here, I liked the Jen Kirkman footage, I'm a fan.
  16. I don't know where that rule of fashion comes from. Myself, growing up (and still ) in the Grateful Dead scene, folks sported GD related tees all over the place. With all that iconographic art, the tee shirts were always a nice touch. I still get people stop me when I wear my Wolf tee shirt. Anyhow, I'll likely be sporting a Wilco shirt on at least one of the days. My goal is to make it into Tim's 2015 Solid Sound Wilco tee shirt photo gallery
  17. Richard Thompson played The Wilbur in Boston on Saturday night. In one of the only instances where RT played Boston in the last couple of decades, I chose not to go and save myself for Solid Sound. Obviously a mistake. http://www.bostonglobe.com/arts/music/2015/06/21/richard-thompson-dazzles-wilbur/2NwjscdC6fcm4Ac3Z32aTO/story.html
  18. Giving a spin to disc 5 of the Winterland '73 box, specifically the Playin > UJB > Dew > UJB > Playin segment. Has to be among the best of the Grateful Dead to my ears. Can't get enough 73 Dead. The audio for this box is crazy good. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Heavy on the "Jaw" I notice, Jawbreaker and Jawbox. Are they related?
  20. Also surprised, but I guess the point is to show the stress of learning and rehearsing all those tunes. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk I could have used more Wilco and less Foxygen. The film does an excellent job of capturing the SS vibe. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. To watch it on your Apple TV Vimeo app, did you first have to go to Vimeo on a computer to purchase it? And then watch it on Apple TV? Just watched the bonus trailer of the all covers show. That is great! Almost all of Cut Your Hair.
