Yes, and the Garcia birthday, 8-1-73 show. And the 8-476 show, which I also attended. To say they always played well at that old pit of a stadium is an understatement.

I can raise my hand and say "Yes." My first proper GD show, just a short time after this Chicago show, 8-6-74 at Roosevelt Stadium. Ended up being the tour closer. I say "ended up" because the show was originally scheduled for before the Philly show, but was rained out (while everyone was in the stadium and all chemically tuned up). Which was fortunate for me, because I had to miss the original date as my family was driving to Pittsburgh for my grandfather's wedding. We fucking drove right past Jersey City. Picture a sulking 16 year old in the back seat, furious that all his friends were

Cape Cod was a killer show. I remember it well, both for the music and the police encounter in the parking lot!

What Live Wilco are you listening to now?
worldrecordplayer replied to BobDylan'sBeard's topic in Just A Fan
I listened to that recently, I was in the house for that show. Currently in the midst of Winterlude night 5. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
I'm holding out and hoping the will eventually sell individual shows from the 30 box, like they did with the Europe box.

I was in attendance at 3 of these shows: 10/27/79 3/27/93 10/1/94

I just listened to all 3 discs of this over the last couple of days, and watched some of the DVD again. Love this show. I do not for one second sign on to the "Jerry sucked post-'82" or whatever view, but I certainly respect everyone's right to their own opinion. My opinion is I saw a good number of fantastic shows in the '87-94 period, Jerry included.

A leak! Did this list come from Snowden?

Shortest Distance/Longest distance for a Wilco/Jeff show?
worldrecordplayer replied to remphish1's topic in Just A Fan
Longest- 177 miles from home in Needham MA to Cap Theatre in Portchester Shortest-about 12 miles from home to numerous Boston shows -
Interesting, I say that 1990 MSG run was a historically great run. One of the last, but still a killer run for me. With second set of 9-20-90 being a pinnacle set. Boston 1991 another historically great run, maybe the last great run.

That entire show...

Have you not heard the second set of that 1990 Branford show (the Nassau one)? It's a highlight show, for sure. Starting right off the bat with the Eyes opener. Really a spectacular show. The nadir of the band? For me, '93-95 clearly. Never a fan of Vince, but at least in '90-'91 we had Hornsby playing piano. After he left Vince alone and Garcia falling apart in front of our eyes....was very sad to behold. I'm expecting Trey to be singing a lot of the Jerry tunes.

Inclusion of the 9-18-87 MSG show, and the pre-release of the Morning Dew from that show, speaks well of this box! One of my all time favorite second sets. A very good soundboard has circulated for years, and not a video of that show is up on YouTube. I'm not going to buy the box, I have no room for all those discs, but I think its great they're doing this.

Good clip from Australian tv embedded in this article. Funny that she's more well known in Europe and USA than in Australia (I find that hard to believe). http://www.stereogum.com/1805368/australia-discovers-courtney-barnett/video/

Not at Lockn'. Well, the only painful decision there is do I stay for the rest of this 2:00 a.m. show or go back and sleep? But until the late nights, there are no overlapping shows. What a relief. At Solid Sound, Saturday always presents some decision challenges between the comedy theater and the music. My wife plants herself inside the theater for all the comedy. I usually come and go. This year I particularly want to see Jessica Williams, but if she's on opposite Richard Thompson, I will be outside hearing music.

Has a daily set time schedule been released? I don't think so and can't find it, but just checking. I would have thought Real Estate would play before Wilco on Friday night, but that last email announcing the acoustic show has them playing after Wilco. Wondering what time Wilco will hit the stage Friday. I'm figuring an 8:00 slot. Anyone here have the details?

Wilco Being There Summerteeth Summer Teeth I Must Be High One Sunday Morning

The sound system at SS has always been crystal clear. Perfect from my vantage point each time, regardless of the weather. I have no doubt it will be again for the Friday show. I was sitting in the mezz at a Portchester show and had no difficulty hearing the encore songs.

Looks like Saturday is just about sold out (only 250 tix left according to a sponsored post on FB). I wonder how many that means. However many, I know it won't be like the first year. Hope it's not more than '13.

I don't think this sentiment applies to Ryan Adams. Seems to me his interest in the Dead is legit. Didn't he put out an album widely seen to be an American Beauty offspring?
-
Glad to see them mixing it up. Looking forward to this set.

At the first SS, the gate to Joe's Field was not open all day. That may have been the case for SS 2 also, I don't recall. At the last SS the field was open all day as I recall.
