Who should be the new "The Price Is Right" host?
Paula Deen replied to bjorn_skurj's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
a little off topic, and i don't even watch "the view", but on BWE (which i do sometimes watch) they had some pretty.hilarious.commentary about a couple of the guest hosts this weekend. particularly the one that had 4 abortions and committed welfare fraud, clipped with her run-ins with barbara walters. the one with the braids, that's who i think should host price is right. -
MTV flips the switch back on for 'Unplugged'

MQ was always my fave. and when i started watching 120 minutes, i had a hot crush on JJ Jackson. something about his geri curl really revved me up. ironically, i felt nothing for pinfield. why would they have a headbanger dude hosting my beloved echo and the bunnymen? i just couldn't get it. does anyone remember this time? it was followed by the young ones on sunday night...and i always wished it was saturday cause monday mornings sucked. -
two chords. real easy like.

"That's how daddy does it" should be a country song. Salted and skinless, in a plastic sleeve. Put it on in and count to three That's how muh daddy does it. That's how muh daddy does it. um, wait.

MTV flips the switch back on for 'Unplugged'
Paula Deen replied to unposed_question's topic in Just A Fan
i concur. they are pretty good to their fans. short of topless massages and oily rubdowns...they give and give and give. and some people still find ways to bitch about that. nothing is ever good enough for some folks. they've paid their dues and if they enjoy a little commercial success that might put their kids through college, then good on em. when/if it ever compromises the music, then i'll quit subscribing, but for now...I CAN'T GET ENOUGH. -

pull the bus over, VC. we need to let a few people off. -
i'm going to try this tonight. i don't like dr. pepper, so i'm going to try it in a diet coke. do you know what variety of nuts i should use? salted, whole, chopped, etc. i hope this doesn't kill me or make my mouth foam up and explode carbonation out on everyone. that would be embarrassing, which might explain why she did it when noone was looking, i guess.
-
i don't either, but dammit. i'm going to try it.if it's good enough for barbara mandrell, george jones and your dad, it's good enough for me. but why the hell was she doing it when no one was looking? like she was embarrassed of it or something. i'm convinced this is a southern thing. where is your dad from??
-
this seems the appropriate thread for this question: um, what the hell was barbara mandrell putting peanuts in her coke when no one was looking for? is it like mentos in a coke or something? i don't get it.

Funny cause I was just going to post a thread asking what people thought Jeff Tweedy thought about this Jesse Davis case in Ohio...but then I thought better of it and figured that if he is thinking about Jesse Davis then he'll probably just post about it here later. Plus, CNN is so gross. -

i'm kinda wishing they'd go on Mtv suddenly. i wonder if you ever bore yourself with the expectation that wilco owes you something besides decent music/concerts from albums you either take for free or buy? this is a well worn wondering and struggle. it ain't new. it ain't clever. it's just what it is. everyone knows Mtv sucks. everyone hopefully knows that wilco will most likely not be on Mtv anyway. everyone knows the dice are loaded. everyone knows that the good guys lost. but i enjoy you carving little facts in stone for us...we know we can count you out should they ever do an unplugged. -
that's soooooooooooooooo dark and existentialistic (or something). the sooner you realize that Tweedy is nothing like you and me, the better we'll all be. do you mind if i ask what he was posting about?

(God, please don't let Will Farrell play Ignatius J. Reilly on the big screen. One Chevy Chase was more than enough.) is that a possibility you've read somewhere??? nooooooooooooo! we need a disgusting pig of an actor...someone we've never seen before. unless they really wanna fatten up bill murray (not counting the razor's edge, please)....he is the only one that comes to mind immediately that could possibly pull it off...and i'm not totally sure of that...but please not Will Farrell. -
"We are also trying to get to the beach in early July--any cool, out of the way suggestions either in Gulf or Atlantic coast near Georgia?" you could come down my way (gulf coast) and stay in the artsy fartsy fairhope, rent a house on the bay and fish, swim, etc. then the beach is 35 minutes or so away. i hear dolly parton might be wandering around even. this year i'm pregnant, so we just planned a vacation around wilco and used up the ATL, six flags, braves game, aquarium, etc. etc. but next year i'm doing something exotic dammit. something that involves margaritas and lots of them. damn,

since Bill Maher is on hiatus and Sopranos are gone, I almost 86ed HBO, but then kept it for FotC and JfromC... I'm not feeling Big Love this go around...but I'll watch for a few more episodes. i'm watching FotC and loving it. You should catch their show from a couple of years ago, similar stuff as the sitcom, but just a stage and the songs. so freakin funny. if your cable company offers "on demand" it was listed in the FotC selections for HBO...totally worth checking out. "You know when I'm down to just my socks it's time for business that's why they call it business socks." i've got J

AWATT, were those your two boys being rotated in and out on the wilco attraction? i figured so. Haha. I loved how many kids we saw there...it was awesome. Anyhoo, we had a blast. Kids dancing in the rain. Splashing around. She was happy to hear Jesus, etc. We had some chatty folks behind us, but no big deal. During "Shake it Off" all I could hear around us was idle chatter...but all in all an awesome show. The Chastain crew was really nice. My only regret is not bringing our own ponchos and being forced to spend twenty smackers on four garbage bags with hoodies...but honestly, nothing to com

i would totally have to agree. this book changed my life in my early twenties, much in the same way catcher in the rye did in my teens. you absolutely must read this book. again and again and again. please allow me another quote: "I find, dear reader, that I have grown accustomed to the hectic pace of office life... I have succeeded in in initiating several work-saving methods. I have taken to arriving at the office one hour later than I am expected. Therefore, I am far more rested and refreshed when I do arrive, and I avoid that bleak first hour of the working day during which my still slug -
this thread is cracking me up. i really wanna get to know everyone. now that i can't go out for drinking and debauchery, i am suddenly more interested in everyone. can i do a "getting to know you" thread or some such nonsense? cause i wanna know who everyone is and figure out whos who and what's what... but i don't want any trouble. gratuitous mention: so, those toys are so cute.

I Finally Convinced My Wife To Go To A Wilco Concert
Paula Deen replied to ponch1028's topic in Just A Fan
i read this like a casey kasem top 40 long distance letter request and dedication. awww, shucks. i hope you have a great time. one thing i can say about mine and my husbands music tastes is that they are so linear, it's scary and boring. of course, he might like some old, stupid punk stuff that i totally would never listen to, and i'm almost certain that he loathes my obsession w/ neil diamond and old rod stewart...but other than that, i think we're right on track. except for he probably likes iron and wine way more than i do...cause to me, all the songs sorta sound similar...which i attribu -
OMFG, Who the hell has seen eddie money twelve times? that's too damn funny. did EM show up at the wedding? maybe he will sing "wanna go back" speaking of EM, looks like he's playing ATL next week. HOLLA!!!
