  1. Mods please remove if this isn’t allowed, with my apologies. I was gifted a Cousin SnapBack cap but I wear hearing aids which don’t make it possible for me to wear that style cap. If anyone in the UK is thinking of getting one please message me and I can save you cash and waiting time. It’s unworn and boxed up ready to ship. Thanks!
  2. I told him I played drums but left it at that! A lovely bloke and a delight to meet him 😊
  3. Apologies, I’ve not been active here for a while. I’ll get back in my box full of letters 😊
  4. I think there was a reluctance to stand up because of the venue being quite formal? I was surprised when this venue was announced but couldn’t fault the performance.
  5. After a panic over a family illness I was so glad I was able to make it to this one. Fantastic performance and some good natured banter from Jeff about it being a seated venue! Nels, as ever, was on fire. And it was already a great night an hour before the gig started because I bumped into Glenn outside 😊 Setlist here courtesy of somebody more organised than me https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/wilco/2023/the-bridgewater-hall-manchester-england-3ba28884.html

  20. First time logging-in for a while - love to all. Delighted at the good number of UK dates, and all in the week I already have booked off as a holiday! Marvellous!
  21. they played really well, and I recommend End of the Road to anyone, a brilliant festival with its feet on the ground and no corporate nonsense. I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with John on the site and they brought the weekend to a superb conclusion. My first time camping for over 30 years and well worth the lack of sleep!
  22. Friends - here I am at last with an update...sorry for the lack of report on Friday, but Friday ran into Saturday, ran into Sunday...you get the picture!! So it was flowers, wine, card, wonderful chocolate brownies from a local place, and the cd, (which ended up as a collection of ballads from various singers, eg Dusty Springfield, Van Morrison, Costello, and some jazz tunes), and all went down a storm - thank you all so much. I made a Medittearanean lamb thing with coriander and lemon and garlic and we had great ice cream and Prosecco. A fabulous night and we are closer than ever now
  23. Ladies. Gentlemen. Thank you!! After a weekend away from the web I have just jumped on to see if anyone had been good enough to respond and I find a really funny, friendly thread full of ideas!! (As if I ever expected anything less from the VC community!) I was considering a meal out but a meal in is the answer I reckon...and with a mix cd - fantastic idea, I especially like the idea of making it into an invite to come over for the meal - inspired - and thanks for the little one-liners here and there guys, I am spoiled! Flowers were already in the mix, plus a bottle of Barolo 'cos she
  24. Hi all, Ok, here's the thing; very recently started seeing someone, still very casual but getting on very well, hopeful of a long-term thing.... her birthday is next week, only a month since we met. What do I get for her? I need gift ideas people! Don't want to go over the top but don't want to be cheap; don't want to be heavy but want to show some thought....any help from the romantic bunch that is us Wilco fans?
