I can't speak of Hawaii, never been. However, I've been to the Caribbean dozens of times to dozens of islands. I've never vacationed there, though. A close, quiet island is Harbour Island, Bahamas. Off the island of Eleuthera. It's been more than 7 years since I've been, so it may have grown up since. At the time, it was wonderfully quiet and simple. There's really nothing to do at all. Beach, swim, snorke, stroll, nap, etc. They do have horses on the island if that were of interest. It's more like an actual village than going to someplace like Nassau or whatever. Well, I've not won any contests or anything. But I seem to find Wilco wherever I travel. Once, at the Taj Mahal, those guys came out of nowhere and bullied their way into my photo while I was trying to get a shot of me at that famous 'bench'.
