  1. As Mojo Nixon said (per Analogman's post) "don't let him get back together with Glenn Frey."
  2. Bettie Serveert - Palomine Saw them play last night. A really good show and they have lots of new stuff but I wanted to hear this one this morning.
  3. One of my favorite books ever is Ken Kesey's Sometimes a Great Notion. It is a little weird but I have no interest in reading it again. It really reminds me of a certain place and time in my life and I think part of me worries that it is not as good as I remember it being.
  4. The Office (from last night). I know, I know, the BBC version is better - but I really like the US version too. "I hope it's urine ..."
  5. I am really looking forward to this.
  6. I guess that is to be expected. I like them but I don't think they are a band that will vary their sound a lot.
  7. Ha! Not at all. (But I was also not aware of that Bragg quote. What is it from?)
  8. Yeah, I'm one of those people. I know I don't need it and I'll tell myself that I won't buy it. But I'll walk in the store and see it and look at all of the extras and I'll buy it.
  9. Bill Janovitz/Crown Victoria - Fireworks on TV
  10. I've taken your advice before and not been dissapointed, so I will check 'em out.
  11. I really like this. I have not been into Sonic Youth in a while, but this one totally does it for me.
  12. I like it a lot, particularly after Summer Sun, which was a letdown for me.
  13. I know; it is pretty frustrating. It has also been a while since Sox/Yankees games in September mattered so little. Coverage of the sweep on Sunday was on page 2 of the Boston Globe sports section on Monday (with the Patriots and NASCAR on page 1).
  14. Loved the book, but think the movie is pretty good too.
  15. I agree. I have been a fan for a while but their last one (Summer Sun) didn't do much for me.
  16. I remember seeing him in John Sayle's movie Matewan in the late 1980s and thinking he was great.
  17. I am certainly no Lips expert and it was only my second time seeing them. It was a great show. Truly entertaining; I smiled throughout. But the review in today's Boston Globe was pretty right on. It basically said that it was fun and entertaining, but it is esentially the same show they have been playing for several years with the same props. Yes, they have some new songs and some new tricks, but it is the same smoke and confetti and funny camera-on-the-microphone and balloons, etc. Set List: Race for the Prize Free Radicals Yoshimi Pt 1 (w/ sing along) Yoshimi Pt 2 Vein of Stars (
