  1. I agree, well, with the Wilco assessment at least. Nels' playing is what really drew me to the JM. I think the lead stuff he plays sounds like a pretty good example of the way p90s sound. I was surprised to read how different they actually are.
  2. A Jazzmaster should have Jazzmaster pickups. Not really played one, but I've been interested in JM's recently and while reading up on them I've found the pickups are very different from your standard p90s. Most people say their closer to a standard Strat single coil.
  3. I agree that's fixed. Dr. Dog were amazing when I caught them. Beat out 2 bands that rank much higher on my personal favorite bands list in Pearl Jam(PJ20 day 2) and both MMJ shows I witnessed.
  4. Jim Belushi and his band did the theme for his shitty show. Chevy Chase was a drummer in an early version of Steely Dan. As the story goes they both sarcastically wished each other luck when they split.
  5. I may be the only person in the universe that thinks this, but The Last DJ might be my favorite, despite alot of the bullshit lyrics.
  6. +no Doors, Bruce(don't really like them, but they deserve a spot in the poll above almost all those listed), Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, , CC fucking R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, Tool, Hendrix, Metallica, RUSH???
  7. Yeah, maybe people like Macca and Keef. Not sure about Collins b/c he just has a plain look about him, and he wasn't in Beatles or Stones. Slash just has a really distinct look.
  8. Well, since you don't like their music......Fact is they were the biggest band in the world from 87-94, Slash is the most recognizable musician in the world, and Axl has an unmistakable voice. They've sold millions of albums all over the world and sold out stadiums all over the world. Are there oversights that should obviously be there? Sure, but lookin at GnR's body of work and how well known and successful they are and their music is I don't think you can deny that they should be in the Hall.
  9. GnR belongs without question. One of the greatest debuts ever, couple ep's put together to make one kickass album(Lies), and one of the greatest double albums of all time, on top of spawning 2 of biggest legends in rock history. I've Chicago mentioned. Really? Were they that successful before they went soft rock? Rush, Iron Maiden, Ozzy have gotta be there and if all Deep Purple ever did was write Smoke On the Water they should be in.
  10. No and I don't think I'd put The Band in there either.
  11. I was at PJ20, the 2nd day. Amazing stuff. They had a sweet museum set up with artifacts from the bands history(old Jeff hats,Ed notebooks, album cover props). Pretty neat thing to do and pretty well done... here's some pics that someone posted https://picasaweb.google.com/109629750578662989433/PJ20Museum?authuser=0&feat=directlink&gsessionid=ovotI0EFHErDJNcoAqD3sg#5648963285046508306 The shows were off the handle. Temple reunion both days, band was on fire!! a bunch of guest spots by PJ members for the support and vice versa. Liam Finn on Habit being the personal highlight Rodm
  12. How To Disappear Completely Wolf At The Door My Heart's Killin' Me First Time Ever I Saw Your Face>Cash version Black
  13. I'd say about 8 years ago I'd read enough about em so I decided to pick up an album. Bought Being There, listened to a the first several tracks and decided it wasn't for me. Bought Yankee Hotel Foxtrot a few years later and really liked what they were doing, but nothing in particular hooked me. Heard Wilco(The Song) and liked it a couple years ago and got the album. I thought it was ok, but my wife really enjoyed the whole album, then I just started liking the whole album one song at a time. First was Deeper Down, then Sunny Feeling and so on and so on. I sat on that for awhile til one day it
  14. I thought the last KoL was pretty boring and formulaic, too up their own ass. I really dig BoTT and OBtN, 2 really good tandem albums imo. And not that I hate what came before, I just feel like that's been done better. Use Somebody is really a damn good song. It got the piss played out of it and we all got sick of it, but it's still very catchy. I don't buy the whole they changed their sound to make it big. After reading some interviews I got the vibe that their "uncle", manager or whatever helped them in the early days alot more than they wanna come right out and admit. Band of Hor
  15. B/c he doesn't deserve it. The playing on that is ok enough, but he doesn't do one thing that makes you think he deserves to be mentioned with the Hendrix's and Page's of the world. That video may be the most overrated youtube vid in the history of music related message boards.
  16. Do what David Gilmour did for his 06 tour. If the tix showed up on the secondary market they were cancelled and put back up for sale.
  17. NICE!!!! Baseball Stars is probably the best baseball game I've ever played. It blew my mind that you could climb the wall and rob homers. I would always make a team loaded with 89 max guys.
  18. In regards to the Fab Faux...Never seen them but wouldn't hesitate given the chance. Read an article on them in Guitar World a few years ago. I'd guess they pull off some wild stuff. They even do Revolution 9. To recreate a crumpling paper sound from it they tried out a bunch of different materials to see what duplicated the album best. It's a cool article if you can find it in the interwebs somewhere.
