  1. Well, they mostly filled it in this week. Looks like I get to find out who Kamikaze Palm Tree is in Vermont! And then get to see Cactus Blossoms in the Dakotas. Cool.
  2. I Never Needed You Like This Before last night! I watched the free opening song preview live and was expecting the standard 3 minute version. Impressive.

    Art-pop album

Did it mention the Loose Fur album that has been in the can since the late 2000's?
  4. Most shows don't have announced opening acts. Keep thinking we'll see those soon. Hope we have some good ones this tour. Who are folks hoping to see?
  5. Sincerely, one of the best recaps we've ever had on VC. Thank you for all the tour reportage, bbop
  6. Jeff and Nels are using their August 26th day off to play with Phil Lesh & Friends in Chicagoland. Interesting. https://www.jambase.com/article/phil-lesh-wilco-philco-sacred-rose-festival-lineup-2022

    Wilc-Os

I think they taste pretty great - sorta Golden Grahams mixed with Cinnamon Toast Crunch
  9. Eerie! There are either guitars that sound like police sirens or police sirens around the 2 minute mark!
  10. Cruel Country (the song) featured on Starship Casual today!
  11. Pitchfork's article has a 'band' pic I haven't seen before - no Mikael though?? https://pitchfork.com/news/wilco-announce-new-album-cruel-country-share-new-song-falling-apart-right-now-listen/
  12. https://www.jambase.com/article/wilco-new-album-cruel-country-single from the ashes alert, but more context from Jeff/band on the release. “there have been elements of Country music in everything we’ve ever done,” frontman and guitarist Jeff Tweedy said. “We’ve never been particularly comfortable with accepting that definition, the idea that I was making Country music. But now, having been around the block a few times, we’re finding it exhilarating to free ourselves within the form, and embrace the simple limitation of calling the music we’re making Country.”
  13. Any word on what's on the new 7inch? I assume the alt take of ITMWLY that is in the Foxtrot X Wilco popup promo picture, but what's on the flippity flop? edit: Wilco posted a pic on instagram. Alt take of War on War.
  14. Same. Well, was supposed to go until I had to isolate myself. Glad they rescheduled to a date I can attend.
  15. True with the slight exception of those that were able to score a copy of Warmer on Record Store Day where it was a stand alone. It's hard not to see the manner of releases like this as a way to boost sales.
  16. Dylan and Elvis (and Sexton) are in Chicago tonight. Good for Bob for playing 8 of 10 new songs, but that doesn't look like a super enjoyable set if the new album isn't your thing...
  17. This show really had no business being good but just landed so solidly. Very small and new bowling alley clearly not ready to host serious artists judging by the blown taps by the time Jesus Etc rolled around. We can’t complain about this setlist. They are changing up to a significant degree, they played deep YHF & Ghost cuts and I actually thought they weren’t going to play IATTBYH, HMD or I’m the Man which would have been nuts (and appreciated) but the latter two were welcome in the encore. loved the comments about Wilco in Vegas: ‘The Hit’ especially since our hero a
  18. I'm intrigued. Definitely checking back into this thread as it develops. Need the intel prior to tomorrow's Vegas show. Maybe they'll have to play it again to get it right? Here's hoping.
  19. I wonder if the tragedy at the Phish concert in San Fran the evening before played any role in the mood? I'm sure not a lot of cross-over between the bands, but sad stuff.
  20. My favorite REM album front to back. Excited to be able to stream the bsides and have quality vinyl.
  21. I was on the lookout at Merriweather Post and Pat was very engaged! I think we can end the watch.
