  1. Me too. A couple of emails went by with no response and then I got busy with holiday season and didn't follow up until last week with another unanswered email. So I decided to call. The new owner took a couple of days to get back to me but apologized and said that he saw the email exchange that I had with the previous owner and would honor my reservation and payment. I would try calling or emailing info@williamstownmotel.com for Ashwan, the new owner. I think the old email that I was using: manager@williamstownmotel.com might be a dead email now.
  2. Just an FYI: If you booked a room at the Williamstown Motel, you may want to call to confirm. The property changed hands as of Jan 1st. The previous owner required prepayment in full by Dec 31st which I thought was odd but I did it anyway since we had stayed there a couple of times in the past and thought they were just instituting this new policy for Solid Sound weekend. Now it seems that they wanted to collect the money before the sale of the property went through. So, it's probably best to call the new owner to make sure you are confirmed and that your payment will carry over.
  3. Great point! I saw Wilco for the first time opening for Paul Westerberg.
  4. Tickets have not arrived here either but I wasn't expecting them to.
  5. It has to be Thursday. The show doesn't air on Fridays.
  6. These's a ride share set up on the Solid Sound website. http://solidsoundfestival.com/travel/ride-sharing/
  7. We were able to park in North Adams' just a few blocks away from MASS MoCA each day last year. The shuttle ran between Williamstown and North Adams so you'd need to rent a car if you are staying in Pittsfield unless they add to the shuttle route this year but I kind of doubt they'd go that far.
  8. Of course we are going to speculate. I've already done so twice in this very post. No one is going to take that from you. Just making a point about how great the event is regardless of the line up.
  9. For me Wilco and Mass Moca are enough...which is why I already bought the early worm tickets. The rest is just icing on the cake. ...and I've already seen Wilco many, many, many times and been to Mass Moca many times as well. Both still totally worth it.
  10. A bunch of ACTUAL punks. So funny how they all swapped clothes for the second song. God, I love that band.
  11. Yes. That'd be cool too. Radio King has always been one of my favorites.
  12. There has been some talk about The Replacements reuniting recently. Paul Westerberg & Tommy Stinson did a couple of things together to help with Slim Dunlop's medical bills from his stroke last year. If they played, it would be beyond fantastic.
  13. I just saw this the other night. I keep watching it and laughing. http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/twas-the-night-monologue/1177604/
  14. Lodging is a problem. I would suggest people also try vrbo.com I'm sure some local folks will be renting their places for the weekend.
  15. The last 2 festivals have started on Friday evening. I've been to the past 2 and arrived on Friday evening around 5-6pm. You could plan to leave on Sun evening as most everything is done by 6-7pm. I have stayed the night and headed back on Monday both times. There are some nice little little towns in the area that are worth exploring, ex. Williamstown, Stockbridge, Lenox... but if you are taking a shuttle you may not be able to do that.
  16. What you are seeing? I don't see anything listing two Wilco shows. I mean that'd be great but where are you seeing that? Edit: nevermind. I see it now. I missed it on first read.
  17. I love Westerberg (& Johnston) and I agree with you but I don't think it's a good thing and I'm not digging the song all that much.
  18. Tommy Stinson has posted a link for people who would like to donate to a fund to help with medical expenses related to Slim Dunlap's stroke. https://apps.facebook.com/fundrazr/activity/9083f6d1d7934ef6954c504d5b17909f
  19. It doesn't seem to be linking to the interview for me. Nevermind. I found it. Nice interview. Tweedy comes off as very lovable. Thanks for posting.
  20. Louie CK talks about how he deals with ticket scalpers on NPR's Fresh Air today. Go to the 10:30 mark to hear where he talks about ticket scalping and the procedures they have in place to foil them. http://www.npr.org/2...14765/louis-c-k
  21. Actually, this is how I found Wilco. We went to see Paul Westerberg in Grant Park in '96 and Wilco was on right before him. I had heard them a little bit when a co-worker played AM so we went early and have been following ever since.
