  1. Cool. Thanks for the heads up. I never did see it.
  2. It's worth seeing if just for the footage of the live solo show at Massey Hall in Toronto. Neil is incredible up there on the stage all by himself. He shows that he's still creative, powerful, relevant and so fucking cool. There are some weird annoying camera angles and it would have been great to see more backstage footage and interview time with Neil but overall it was really good to see.
  3. Blue Oyster Cult - Godzilla Tour! (1980) Hey, I was 15. What did I know?
  4. Has anyone seen it yet? I'm planning to go this Saturday. http://youtu.be/ukmfbLpK0PM
  5. My husband & I are in the pic that is currently my profile pic. It's a photo that Pat took at the venue in San Sebastian, Spain last Nov. We are sitting on the beach behind the venue. We were so thrilled to be in the photo and thought it was the perfect memento of our trip so I wrote to HQ asking to purchase a copy of the photo. Never heard back. I'd still really love to have a copy of it. Maybe I'll try again sometime. Here's the photo on the band's FB page. https://www.facebook...&type=3
  6. I saw mics set up in front of the stage so I think there's a good chance.
  7. I agree about OSM being an exception but when I thought about that, I realized that he was laying someone else's story bare so the vulnerability part still really wasn't there. In some ways, yes but not totally. I completely agree about Hell is Chrome too. AGIB is holding up as one hell of a record. On a side note, I'm also a migraine sufferer but have them managed pretty well with meds.
  8. Really!? Where I was standing it sounded great. One of the better shows for me, actually.
  9. I saw some mics set up at the MASS MoCA show. Maybe that will be next.
  10. Cool. I've been looking for a poster, or anything really, from their July 4th, 1996 show in Grant Park (my first show). Fingers crossed!
  11. I read this quote yesterday morning: “He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist. ― St. Francis of Assisi ...and then I got in the car for a long drive and was listening to my Wilco Favorites playlist which has a bit of everything from their catalogue including the Mermaid records. So I was hearing songs from the early 90's side by side with songs from TWL. I started thinking about that quote and thinking that what's missing for me on the records from SBS onward
  12. I agree with you and was just thinking today that maybe this lineup is going to also follow a bell curve. I'm hopeful for the next record.
  13. I like this. Never thought of it that way.
  14. Well they have changed arrangements on songs in the past so it's not such a crazy idea. For example, Spiders is a much better song with the new arrangement, IMO. Same for Laminated Cat. Change can be good.
  15. Yes, totally agree...or even if the current version had just ONE of those loud freakouts it would have impact and still be beautiful.
  16. I think it's time for a new live version of Via Chicago. The current version is/was great for a while but I'm feeling like it's time they switch that up a bit...or maybe I just need to go to fewer shows
  17. Why do so many "journalists" have to give these backhanded compliments? Can't they just give these guys the respect they deserve without the bullshit commentary about college dudes, Dad rock, etc. So boring already.
  18. I loved this show. It was such a great crowd. I loved being in the room with y'all.
  19. Did you try the box office? They've been on and off saying they have tickets still.
  20. I would like to take this opportunity to give a BIG THANK YOU to the VC admin team. Sometimes you don't know what you've got until it's gone.
  21. Sweet. Thank you both. You just made my day.
  22. Thanks for this info. Do you know if the download comes as 1 track or does each song have it's own track? I'd pay the $9 bucks for these two songs but I wouldn't want to listen to the whole show every time I want to hear them.
  23. Not really. I'd love an mp3 of this and the acoustic version of Spiders so I can listen while I drive.
