The 8 Month Old "New" Fall TV Season 2010-2011
bleedorange replied to u2roolz's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I watched a few episodes of Undercovers, but it just wasn't very good. The spy scenes were less thrilling and less believable than what you would find on Chuck, so why watch a similar but inferior show? Hopefully, Gugu Mbatha-Raw can find a more worthy show to star in. Cougar Town is the best show on television right now. Followed closely by Community and Modern Family. How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory have been decent, but a little underwhelming. I'm sticking with The Event, but I'm not sure why. It feels too much like 24 in the sense that it seems to contain smaller epi -
Keith Olbermann suspension/ MSNBC woes

With Olbermann's history, I wouldn't be surprised if NBC is finally fed up with his act, too. There might be more to this than just breaking this rule. -

Actually, the response across the board has been to criticize NBC for going over the line in suspending Olbermann for such a minor offense. -
2010 MLB - Playoffs and hot stove!

Greatest baseball season I've ever witnessed! Thanks, Rangers! -
No kidding! I am absolutely sick of the preferential treatment they get in this country.

Finally.

I know. It almost takes all the suspense out of election night.

Escaping the ridiculous current argument, is everyone else as fascinated with Nate Silver's electorate maps as I am? I didn't know the NYT picked him up, but the extra resources have really made his site and methods that much more interesting to look at. FiveThirtyEight Blog

2010 MLB - Playoffs and hot stove!

I don't go as far back as Crow, but my earliest memory of the Rangers was a game on July 26, 1985 at Arlington Stadium. I was 7 years old. The Rangers were playing the Yankees and Ron Guidry was the starting pitcher for New York. I remember the Rangers coming back to win the game with a wild inning where they scored a bunch of runs. It turns out it was 8-4 New York going into the bottom of the eighth and the Rangers scored five runs on five singles, two walks, and two wild pitches (thanks, baseball-reference.com). Every summer, my family would take a trip to Arlington to go to Six Flags -

I agree. Aren't they starting the season earlier next year? -

Can't even describe the feeling. I know it's just one playoff series, but it means a lot for the franchise. It's a great group of guys. They are right up there with the 2005 Longhorns as my favorite teams of all-time. -
It is $3.99 today on Amazon. I made the choice to buy it.

Yeah, it looks like the days of 4-5 dollar albums are coming to an end. Looking at the announcement in detail, it says that new albums will be $7.49, which is a 50% increase (or more). They make sure to compare themselves to iTunes, and state how much cheaper they still are, but this still hurts.

I'm more concerned about the number of people who stated they watched the episode but missed the Wilco joke. Don't people pay attention anymore? How does this reflect on our ADD-addled society? Discuss.

Suckers - Wild Smile One of my favorites of the year.

What monkey does Minnesota have on its back? This is only the second playoff victory in the history of the Rangers organization, and they are the only team to have never won a playoff series. Go Rangers! -
I hate that True Blood song.
-
I don't know. What difference does it make?
-
It isn't that bad. It's just going to be a down year this year. Really, the biggest thing hurting us are mental mistakes and stupid penalties. We helped them extend some key drives because of them.

I'm curious as to what the awful lyric is in Racing Like a Pro. Can't think of anything that objectionable.

Seeing them in Dallas for the first time on the 9th. Really looking forward to it. I had a few friends that saw them start the tour in Richmond and a couple that followed them around for a little while in the midwest. All the reports are similar to yours.
