No talk about the new Arcade Fire disc??
brianjeremy replied to imsjry's topic in Someone Else's Song
I'm in love with this album. Not as much as Funeral but I think it's pretty darn good. -

I never got into Doug Martsch's album either. I dunno why. I bought and gave it a few spins but nothing more. I honestly haven't listened to it since it came out.

I have gotten to meet Billy but I never saw them, Zwan or him solo. I think it's just one of those things that I need to do before I can pass from this life to the next. I am much like you solace, we've talked about this before, I was a huge fanboy from 93-99. Machina did a lot to blow my trust in them and their cred. Not that Adore wouldn't have made a bad Billy Corgan solo album, it just wasn't a Pumpkins album. The fact that Machina II was far better than the released album was even worse.

I hope! I never got to see them!

Yep, it's SC. Here's an interview with them from *gasp* Pitchfork!

Hopefully going on Valentines after I take my lady out (she no likey-likes concerts). As for the OCMS, I've seen them three times over the past 2-3 years. The first time was with David and Gillian and the crowd was a bit older and hippy-ish. The crowd was perfect. The second time was a year later and their was a good mix of late thirty-somethings with retard early-twenty something frat / sorostitute crowd. They were a little rowdy but a good rowdy, you know? The last time, in July of last year, it was majority college kids and retard frat kids with their sorostitue rejects. They talked

South Carolina. They're based outta Charleston now. I may go see them in Asheville next month. I have yet to decide but I am really into the album now. It may wear off in a few days, who knows. I got his at the same time that I got Destroyer's Rubies, which I did not like.

I can't get enough of this album. Seriously, I didn't think much of it when I got it a few months back. However, over the past week, I can't keep from not playing it. Between this and the Arcade Fire's new one, this is about all I am listening to.

I dunno. I just kinda cringe when I hear about reunion albums; not so much about tours because it give me the opportunity to see these bands that I didn't get to see. I feel that very few bands can actually pull it off. Mission of Burma pulled it off I believe but few do it right.

Is it just me or was their last one just bland as hell? I found it on clearance at Target. I listened to it maybe once.

The crowd they draw now sucks. Retarded frat boys yelling wagon wheel for two hours until they play it in the encore. Hipsters talking the whole time and not giving a good god damn about the music. Blows because the atmosphere at their shows used to be really cool.

My god, that awesome, huh? I had my expectations set pretty low and now my spirit is raised.

I would say that Jimmy is more important than James. The two non-Jimmy albums in his career are his worst (adore and The Future Embrace). I think the addition of Jimmy makes his batting average better than without him. It still doesn't explain Machina though. As a diehard fan, I am not looking forward to this. I am thinking that it's gonna be a quasi-train wreck. Zwan's album wasn't bad and I am hoping that the Chicago songs meant for that one end up on this one but I fear that Billy has other ideas. I fear that we are getting another Machina.

I was luke warm about this album when I got it a few months back but I can't seem to get enough of it the past few days. Awesome.

I've heard tons of Wilco on the radio. Outta Mind Outta Sight got played quite a bit back when Being There came out. They get played a lot over at the local independent/free-range station. Eleven different songs over the past month on just their normal broadcast hours, not including their NPR or syndicated shows.
