I don't think YHF was as divisive as their last two albums have been. The response for the most part was positive. It was around that time when this community started, so most people were in love then. There were a few people around here who were bitching about it not being alt-country, but not too many. The AGIB-period was really funny reading the "OMG THIS IZX THRE GREATIST THINGG EVAR" bullshit. I know it's the "brand-new album feeling and everything, but let's not shit ourselves" kind of deal. I guess the same thing's happening now., just more annoying this time.

Yeah, I love it. Not sure why it was frowned upon so much. The last song is so fucking good it hurts.

For my money, the Arcade Fire definitely are making some of the best music today. Love wilco and YHF, but Funeral is one of the best albums of the decade. It was just one of those albums, you know? Sure they only have two records under their belt but they're solid records.

I agree. It's not very "son volt" sounding, but it's still good. It does seem more in line with Farrar's solo work but it's nice hearing the horns all the same. You can also pick up the ep at the indie stores as well. They had a whole stack of them yesterday at the store.

Agib is alright, it's a real grower but it's okay. Pass the live album because you can get that shit for free all over the internets. And no, it's not the greatest live album ever.

I like that album but can't find it anywhere. the title track is amazing. She played it live on the local radio station and it blew me away.

I agree, it's not their best but it's still good. Although, I do believe that Phantom Limb is their best song.

From De Stijl through Elephant, they were fucking brilliant. With each album they got better and better. I bought each at or shortly after their initial release and was blown away each time. GBMS was a huge let down. Ot may be one of those situations where you might have just had to have been there, and maybe you were and just didn't feel the same way. I remember the first time I heard Elephant and being totally floored by the first three tracks. Nothing, and I do mean nothing, beats that feeling.

Lou Barlow's new one. It's pretty lo-fi compared to EMOH but it's alright. Also How did I miss this one? How fucking awesome is this album? I just got it today...great stuff.

In all honesty, he probably doesn't care. The only vote that matters is the one that I cast with my dollar and I'll probably end up buying the album out of sheer loyalty and coupled with a severe case of musical OCD. He'll make his dollar.

I will admit that it did grow on me but to have that much talent and to not have something mind-blowing is still a disappointment. I was really hyped up about it because I loved the Stripes and Benson a lot. The end results just wasn't as great as it was on paper.

I was being sincere with my comment to the dude about being a dad. Nah man, it's just depressing to hear these songs. They aren't even close to being what they used to be, which was awesome. Now they're just not that awesome anymore. I hope I am proven wrong with the other songs, but nothing in these three songs demonstrates that Wilco are the greats that they used to be, at least in my mind. It's funny how one person opinion can be so looked down upon. Isn't the internets about bitching about how much something does or does not suck?

better question: Does the baby jesus also, at some point, resurrect the kittens in some after-life of rolling cat-nip fields of awesome-ness? Would that be cool or what?

Haha! After The Raconteurs album and their last one, I kinda feel the same way. I loved the Blue Orchid and My Doorbell, but the rest didn't excite me.

Congrats on being a soon-to-be dad. I'll take my Wilco in watered-down-shell-of-their-former-selves-form, please. Take it easy on the excitment.
