Outrageous! All I can say is that it's lucky you didn't post this on the Facebook site or the fur would be really flying. I need to log off, have a cup of tea and calm down. Then I will come back and ask the admins to get you banned.

Tatty does just about sum me up. In other news, looking forward to a virtual Glastonbury via the wall to wall BBC coverage. Will be worshipping at the altar of Macca tomorrow. Think it would be a fine time to retire actually, but he probably just loves playing. -

Another morning, another day on tour in Spain for Bbop. Hope your notebook is still readable. -

You can enjoy our Scotish/Welsh joshing, but just watch how we unite in a celtic shield-wall of defiance once any English get involved. BTW, the Welsh are, or course, the original 'Britons'. The English are merely recent uncouth interlopers into our ancient ancestral lands. And where would they have been without us at Agincourt? Answer me that!

Well, when I was a kid we had a bath once a week whether we needed it or not. On Friday mornings for PE there were often kids with muddy knees from Monday afternoons rugby. Both statements are true. I also used to work for a company with a major office in Glasgow - so had a few trips up there. I survived.

Who can forget that very appropriate Sky Blue Sky homage to Mexican wrestling. One of Wilco's finest moments - wish I had been there (even just for the sight of Pat in a gimp mask). Was thinking that myself - not the pining part - that was before my time. Covid isolation lasts a few days so there could continue to be some juggling for a bit? Wonder if Pat wants a shot at Impossible Germany - or they can just do 'the short version'. Also, ta.

Apology accepted. Thank you. In similar spirit, I'll offer an apology for enjoying Peru 3 Scotland 1 quite so much a few months later. It brought a much needed sense of closure to a distraught teenager. -

It's not that I don't like this or the recent TWEEDY albums as they are playing, but after a listen through I couldn't remember a single tune from it. There are plenty of albums I haven't liked initially that I have grown to love (Being There being a case in point from the Wilcos when it was my first proper Wilco after loving Mermaid Avenue - the first I had heard at all from them), but it's not a good sign. The songs don't flow in my head - always some lyric or change in rhythm that jars - I remember the same was true of Wilco The Album (though there were some tracks I liked immediately there

Nice to see another Brit here from time to time. Hope you didn't get caught up in the Paris debacle. Shame Wilco aren't playing anything other than 1 festival in the UK this summer. It seems to be a more or less full on folk/Americana festival so the country direction would suit I suppose. (I won't be there). Maybe they'll get onto Jools Holland as it may still be running the current series at that time I hope.

I echo your sentiments - though of course you state them so much better than I would. I too had previously expressed a desire for something more upbeat a few times, going back to over a year ago. Hoping that corresponds to the next one they release.

Ta. "Wilco had started work on new a record before the pandemic, it was art pop. We had been working toward some new ideas that would be exciting to us." I hope that one surfaces eventually. I'd like some upbeat Wilco after so long they've been on other travels. Haven't heard a sniff of the new one yet and it was a new wave country (Steve Earle, Dwight Yoakam, Lone Justice) that lead me to Wilco via Mermaid Avenue in the first place back in the day, so it could be great also.
