"Black Moon" by K. Calhoun. Insomnia sweeps the globe. Those few who remain able to sleep are in mortal danger from the crazed insomniacs. Fun read so far.

I was born to rock, I'll never be an opera star!

"The Warriors". Still holds up, my son liked it.

I heard Limbaugh claim that the cheeto was joking.

Maybe this will be the turning point. Was yesterday the high water mark for his campaign? We can only hope.

Welcome to the team UC2P! -
"Can you imagine how great it would be if there was a COMPLETE outsider as President?!" My response was "Sure but that man is not fit for the job. I'd be afraid for my children's lives if he was President" and so on.....

On Saturday night I met an angry Bernie supporter who is going to vote for the cheeto. I tried to talk sense into him but it didn't take. Sad!

Halfway thru his speech last night I decided to go outside and get soaked in a thunderstorm. A much better use of my time. -
The Blake Babies are playing a show in Evanston tomorrow! This I found out by pure chance.....unknowingly, I hit the wrong button on the radio as I was driving and I heard an interview with the band. Ah man, such a great band back in the day....

I'm holding out for the Mother Love Bone reunion.

Lately we've been watching over a chicken coop for a neighbor who's out of town. Surprisingly, I've found it quite soothing to observe and listen to the three hens rooting around the yard for food.

This coming Saturday the Giving Tree Band is playing the Metaphysically Fit Fest in Yorkville. They hit the stage at 6pm. The next day is the Giving Tree Bands triumphant return to VeggieFest in north Naperhell. Yes, a full weekend of GTB is almost upon us!

How can people claim this was not an instance of plagiarism? What sort of insular echo chamber are people living in that allows them to deny reality? And yet people are doing just that. Unbelievable. Btw, I watched her speech last night. This was supposed to be a big moment to paint Trump in a new light. None of that happened, IMHO. The thoroughly entertaining death spiral of the GOP continues..... -
Saw "10 Cloverfield Lane" the other day. Also, watched "Hot Wet American Summer". Both I'd rate a solid meh.

I'll watch me some hockey but that's about it for organized sports.

I had to google this Gronk guy to find out who he was.

I'm sure you know but there is "Dreaming Man" (a 1992 compilation CD) that he released a few years back.

Recently picked up a brand new vinyl bootleg (at Half Price Books) of Neil's11/17/92 concert at the local public TV studio (wttw). Listened to sides 1&2 last night; fantastic recording, sounded like I was right there in the room with him. I did see him play the following night. I wish I saw more shows on that tour. Highly recommended recording.

Great news! PBS picked up MST3K and is showing it on Sunday nights at 11pm on their Prime channel. I watched Manos: Hands of Fate the other night. G'damn what a crazy awful flick but hilarious too thanks to Joel and the bots. Then there's Torgo and his haunting theme.

Today is the 37th anniversary of one of the best moments in baseball history...........disco demolition at Comiskey Park! I watched the whole thing unfold live on channel 44 and I gotta say, it was great. Harry Carry and Jimmy Piersall, both being half lit up on Falstaff as usual, were aghast at the proceedings and were even funnier than usual. Thank you Steve Dahl! Coho, coho, coho, coho!!
