Because the dog keeps breaking the tie-down in the yard, I made a custom one out of rebar and 50 lbs of concrete and buried it in the back yard this morning. Take that dog, ha! Btw, my backyard looks like a battle field now, thanks to the dog.

Saw a mating pair of blue winged teals today in a prairie pothole. They're little ducks, as ducks go.

It is a great read! Got it an estate sale last weekend along with Jim Marshall's "Not Fade Away". Total cost was $4. That's a nice price 'cause Marshall's book is going for $30+ on ebay and amazon.

I'm reading "I'm with the Band" by Miss Pamela of the GTO's. She mentioned in passing that she met a street poet in San Francisco who went by Bummer Bobby; hung out with him for an afternoon and played kissy face. Never saw him again until he was on the news for killing some guy at the behest of Charlie Manson. Turned out that Bummer Bobby was Bobby Beausoleil...who I believe is still in prison on a life term.
  8. I hid in the bushes and peered thru some side windows for a few of those Living Room shows. I tell ya, an unforgettable experience to be that close.
  9. When will I be mailed the results of this poll? I keep checking the mailbox but aint nothing showing up.
  10. Oh yeah, Hot Tuna at the Park West in the early 90s. Acoustic show. We walked in a couple minutes after the doors opened and went right to the table at center stage.
  11. ^fantastic!^ Closest I got to the GD or JGB was third row.
  12. Anybody have the chance to get real close up for a concert you're excited about? I've been lucky enough to have the opportunity a few times in the mid/late 80s. Lets see, I saw The Firm, Deep Purple, Rush, Triumph, Iron Maiden and a couple others that I don't recall right now, all at the Rosemont Horizon. We knew a husband and wife bouncer team who handled the front row area who told us if we could get down close enough to get their attention, they'd stick us in the space between front row and the stage....and that's exactly what they did (except for Rush, which were legit front row tix). 13. Me and my younger brother were chatting last week and he reminded me that he slept over night at Rosemont during the winter of 1986 for tickets to see Rush. Maybe the Power Windows tour? I cant recall. Anyways, the cops there orchestrated an orderly way to keep the line "fair" and my brother somehow ended up first in line and bought front row tickets for him, me and our buddies. I checked my stub and sure enough, there it was, front row. I had totally forgotten that I saw Rush that close up. Ok, carry on....
  14. You're as cold as ice, Mr. Pron.
  15. I cant answer until I know if liquids should be considered.
  16. Rhinelander bock was even cheaper but it was totally undrinkable. I remember it having weird chunks or fibers or something floating around in it.
  17. "The Goldbergs" actually makes me laugh. Jeff Garlin rules. And I love the word umbrage. One just does not hear that enough.
  18. Worst "beer" of all time? That summer shandy crap. I have no idea how people keep that stuff down.
  19. Yes, American commercial domestic, REPRESENT!
  20. Nothing packs more flavor and nutritional value than the mighty Blueberry.
  21. The mighty Blueberry is the King of fruits.
  22. The HC's are just way too juicy for me. I bite into one and I get apple froth all over the place. Who needs that? And what am I gonna do with the HC tree growing front of my house that I planted3 years ago? Big problems with no easy answers.....sheeesh
  23. Ah, a favorite topic of mine. Right now I have Busch Light, PBR (tallboy) and Old Style in the beer fridge. I've been known to keep Schlitz ('60s recipe), Strohs, Rolling Rock and the occasional Stella, Newcastle and Guinness in there too. I like to mix up my crisp, (mostly) minimal aftertaste, bubbly water. Craft beer aint got no place in my fridge.
