  1. Completely agree about Wet Leg and would add Beach Bunny and Indigo De Souza to the list of newer artists that I'm really enjoying. I'll check out Plaines.
  2. Saturday: Brandi Carlisle (for my wife's birthday).
  3. One of my favorite bands. I've seen them many times live and it's always been a great show They have a small, but highly devoted following. You likely know their drummer, John Wurster, from Superchunk and Bob Mould Band. Their new album is quite good. Enjoy!!
  4. What a great story - loved it. There's a great song on the The Baseball Project's 3d album campaigning for Dale's induction into the Hall of Fame.
  5. The Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio
  6. Lots of great ideas and names tossed around in this thread. So who volunteers to approach Jeff on this?
  7. Awesome. Bring hearing protection.
  8. Alejandro Escovedo and Lydia Loveless (and others) at Day 3 of Fitzgerald's American Music Festival.
  9. Son Volt and The Waco Brothers (among others) at Day 1 of Fitzgerald's American Music Festival.
  10. It sure was. I hope the secret service agents who were in the vehicle corroborate Ms. Hutchinson's testimony. If they deny or contradict it, that would be red meat for the "witch-hunt" crowd.
  11. Yesterday was the first Father's Day in the last seven that I was together with all four of my children. Two have moved to California and one to Denver. It was an excellent Father's Day.
  12. Closest town for me is Jackson. According to the Googles, there are no record stores in Jackson.
  13. Thanks, TCP. Unfortunately, I'll be in Wyoming on RSD.
  14. I've enjoyed reading the many thoughtful, well-written reviews in this thread. I'm going to wait until I receive a physical copy of the album before I listen to it (horribly and stubbornly old-fashioned on this issue, I know). Anyone have any inside information on when dB will release Cruel Country on CD and vinyl?
  15. Phil Lesh, Jeff Tweedy and Nels Cline will perform together on 8/26 as part of the Sacred Rose Festival In Bridgeview, IL Jeff Tweedy joins lineup for Sacred Rose music fest in August (chicagotribune.com)
  16. That sucks. Can you get a cheap flight on Southwest? They fly non-stop from Chicago to Albany.
  17. For me, Patterson Hood put it best in " Thoughts & Prayers:" When my children's eyes look at me and they ask me to explain It hurts me that I have to look away The powers that be are in for shame and comeuppance When Generation Lockdown has their day They'll throw the bums all out and drain the swamp for real Perp walk them down the Capitol steps and show them how it feels Tramp the dirt down, Jesus, you can pray the rod they'll spare Stick it up your ass with your useless thoughts and prayers Stick it up your ass with your useless thoughts and prayers
  18. Heard the title track on the radio about an hour ago. Excellent.
  19. I saw the comedian Mike Birbiglia last night. Excellent.
