Nearly 2 years since I bought the tickets, finally Wilco tonight!

I sent the Paramount a note asking if I could bring a pillow to the show. They finally got back to me & approved. I'm having some pretty bad spine issues & wasn't going to be able to go. I went to MMJ & practically had to crawl the 3 blocks to the car. The chairs are medieval torture devices & I can't stand for extended periods. I'm psyched for the show!

Saw My Morning Jacket & Durand Jones on Saturday. What a great show to end my concert quarantine! The show started at 7:00 to avoid any issues with the venue 11:00 curfew. I didn't know anything about Jones & he was a pleasant surprise. Good retro soul. This was the second & final night for MMJ & they were totally on. Played a little over 2.5 hours. It appears they aren't doing "One Big Holiday" every night. Luckily I picked the right night. Actually there were a lot of changes in the setlist over the 2 nights. Downloading last night's show from the Beacon. First of the residency. Some guitar player named Nels Cline plays on 3 songs. It's up on archive.org.

My Morning Jacket on Saturday night. First concert since November 2019 (Nick Cave). I've had the third vaccine shot & my doc thinks I should be ok. Venue is requiring proof of vaccination & wearing a mask. Excited! Then Wilco in the same venue on October 13 with Young Fresh Fellows. Yesterday I passed on Foo Fighters tickets a week after that. First show at our "glorious" new Climate Pledge Arena. Decent seats for $120 ea. I like those guys some but not that much. I liked them much more in the early days. Too much Dave Grohl all the time now. I'll be doing well to pull off the 2 shows

Got an email from Strand of Oaks saying they are cancelling their headlining tour. They are still going out to open for Jason Isbell (that would be a good show!).

I'm kind of glad they did it. Better than continuing to just chase the all mighty dollar. That's assuming they just weren't into it anymore. I saw them a real lot & don't think I would enjoy them being a nostalgia act. Feel that way about most bands.

Feel better from the sinus infection soon! I'm prone to those but luckily haven't had one in quite awhile. Could have something to do with avoiding people for the past year & a half methinks. Anyway, they are miserable. Take care!
