The gist of it is that it happened just weeks before the election and the administration knew that it was a September 11th terror attack from the very beginning, but spun it as a garden-variety riot caused by a Youtube video. They kept everybody quiet about it until after the electionn

Their Facebook page says this, so I guess they'll probably play both weekends: They used to do single-day passes, but I just read that the new 2-weekend format will do away with that. So now I'm looking at $225 to see Wilco. Hmmmmmm.....
-
Not all that impressed by the lineup, but I'll spring for a single-day ticket for the night that Wilco play. Murphy's Law dictates that they'll probably play the same weekend (October 10-12) that the Great American Beer Festival is held in Denver. I'll have several chances to see Wilco this year, but there's only one GABF.

It would take me about 3 seconds of Googling to find hundreds of photos of Nazi-themed, anti-Bush imagery. Is it offensive? Yes. Is it offensive when Glenn Beck does it? Yes. Is it indicative of of the official policies of the NRA/Democratic party? No. Does it represent the views of the overwhelming majority of the two groups' members? No.

Heaven forbid someone should criticize a president. Who are you calling a conservative? Honestly, I'm as liberal as I am conservative. Middle of the road, I am.

He'd be almost 80 at the end of his first term. The chances of Biden winning the nomination are slim, but it would be a good thing for the Republican party. Hell, I like anyone who can throw Senator Feinstein into a tizzy. Hillary Clinton was the darling of the party. Ted Cruz would resonate with voters who are tired of the status quo of Washington politics. And let's not forget that he's Latino: if he could grab 95% of the Latino vote like Obama did the African-American vote then it's "Hola, Casa Blanca."

I was referring to the CIA, NSA, FBI, NRO, etc., not the ridiculous monstrosity that is the DHS. As far as I'm concerned, it should be dissolved.

They tried (and failed) when John McCain ran for president. He was born in Panama. Anyone can beat Joe Biden. I like Ted Cruz, but what chance of winning the presidency does a minority senator with only 3 years in office really have?

“Bin Ladin determined to strike in U.S.” What a revelation! Bin Laden wanted to attack America! Clear evidence that Bush could have stopped the attack! President Clinton received a similar briefing in 1998 which warned that al Qaeda planned to hijack American aircraft. A few months later the September 11th hijackers began to arrive in the United States and underwent flight training and preparation for their successful attack, despite Clinton having been warned ahead of time. Was 9/11 Bill Clinton's fault? No. Was it George Bush's fault? No. Presidents are presented with a dizzying ar

Clinton had 8 years and 4 major al Qaida attacks against America under his belt by the time he left office. Bush had been in office less than 8 months when the September 11th attacks were carried out. I am confident that both presidents did whatever they thought was necessary to protect the nation and its citizens while they were in office. Any chatter to the contrary is just politically motivated background noise.

Who said that?
-
My blaming was tongue-in-cheek; I don't believe any of the things I just typed. I was pointing out how ridiculous it was to blame Bush for what happened on September 11th.
-
Despite the fact that the planning and training took place on President Clinton's watch? Despite the fact that the Clinton administration knew that al Qaeda planned to use commercial aircraft to attack the United States, yet it allowed the hijackers to enter the United States and obtain flight training? Ok, if preexisting conditions can be ignored in favor of a 'the buck stops here' attitude, then I guess you can say that '9/11 was Bush's fault.' Therefor: The devastating recession is Obama's fault. Benghazi was Obama's fault. Newtown was Obama's fault. The Iranian nuclear weapons p

I have not heard, nor read, a single person -- right or left -- say such a thing.

You have seat # 1040, so I'm guess that it'll be more than a thousand. Just thing of it as the typical Wilco crowd jammed into half the space. Do they dump cold air from the rafters? I've been to one or two similar sheds that did and it was a big relief in the summertime heat.
-
Only speculation, but I've been to shows at similar venues and the seat numbers were just there as placeholders and it was standing, not seated. I got a ticket for Tampa that's back behind the pit but I'm not sure I'll be able to make it there so quickly after Solid Sound.

New Jersey governor Christie wants to strengthen his state's already strict gun control laws and limit access to violent video games. The Republican has been pretty tight with President Obama lately -- so much so that he's basing his legislation on 'Hope.' The governor doesn't seem very confident in his proposed laws ...
-
No, it's as if to say that we already have laws against speeding that people are ignoring, so what good are additional laws that make speeding in a blue car even more illegal?
-
This person says that it won't even reduce it by any appreciable amount. Even Senator Feinstein admitted that background checks would not have prevented the tragedy in Sandy Hook.

The anti-gun knuckleheads that represent us are, in most part, anti-gun enough to want to disarm Americans to the fullest extent allowable. It would have been easy to ban the ridiculously over-sized and unreliable aftermarket magazines that no reasonable gun owner would tend to use: Glock mags that extend 8 inches below the bottom of the pistol grip and 100-round drums for ARs. Our representatives could have claimed a bit of a victory, but instead they got greedy and decided that even the standard magazines were too large.
-
Because Australia, if that makes any difference. Not to mention that there has been quite a bit of talk about confiscation from the anti-gun side in the United States. Right. Also add in sporting and hunting.

1) Tea partier? NOPE 2) Caucasian? YEP (Chechnya is part of the Caucasus from which the term is derived.) 3) Late 20s-early 30s? YEP and NOPE 4) Veteran? NOPE 5) Acted alone or with one other? YEP (Although additional people could have been involved.) 6) Local to Boston? YEP I suspect more than a few people are upset that the bombers were Muslims and not pasty, right-wing Anglos.

t seems to me that Form 4473 effectively covers anyone who abuses the face-to-face allowance:

The only thing I can think of is individual-to-individual sales and that's the same thing that people are calling the "gun show loophole."

The ATF has 5,000 employees and an annual budget of $1.2 billion, so I beg to differ. I am not a liar and such a condescending tone is not necessary in a civil discussion. The pro- gun control folks have made "Even if it saves only one life -- isn't it worth it?" a pillar of their campaign. It sounds good until you realize that they're admitting that they don't think their new laws will save many lives. More than 30,000 Americans are killed in automobile accidents every year (far more than die from gun crime) so I propose that we could save tens of thousands of lives every year by mand
