  1. I feel your pain, those of you who bought general admission tickets that turn out to be in the back. Of the three Florida shows, only one has GA tickets in the back of the venue. The other two are GA pit areas. I bought GA tickets reflexively for all three, only to find out later that I would be in the back for one of them! Went ahead and bought seated tickets for that one...good seats, but now I am looking to sell the two GA tickets, because I don't need them. Wish I had some Wilco friends here in FL. Argh! The weird part is that the one with seated tickets and GA in the back is an amphit
  2. Sundogs flare on windshield glass Sudden swoop skyward iron horse overpass Pass a man walking like the man in the moon Walking like his head's full of Irish fiddle tunes
  3. Yep, I've already got some of those shows from June: Des Moines, Louisville, Miami, plus a few highlights from other dates. No wonder I was a bit underwhelmed!
  4. Sad news for fans of Soft Machine, Gong: http://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/feb/05/gong-founder-daevid-allen-has-six-months-to-live
  5. She stripped away her rancid poncho An' laid out naked by the door We did it till we were un-concho An' it was useless anymore
  6. That stuff is Shakespeare compared to My Humps. Have you guys heard the lyrics to that song? If you've got lumps, bumps or humps, you should see a dermatologist...or an oncologist.
  7. I have often said that the rhythm section was the weak link in the Dead, but wow. Maybe it wasn't meant that way...
  8. I am assuming that the Tweedy>Jeff Solo>Jeff & Friends will be like the shows he has been doing, with some special guests at the end...but whatever the case, this sounds exciting. I am looking forward to finally, finally seeing Jeff play outside Wilco for the first time since I started listening to his songs in 1999.
  9. Fantastic news. Just got the email. This is exactly what I was hoping for. I don't care who else plays, really. Whatever the lineup is, my weekend is already made!
  10. Where are you guys getting this information? Am I missing something?
  11. I'm taking my wife to her first Wilco show in Tallahassee. Hope she likes 'em, because we are already booked for Solid Sound! She's not going to the other two FL Wilco shows, because of her work schedule, but I may have a buddy coming with me to one of them...
  12. I read where there might be some stuff from between 1969-1971..."houseboat" tapes or tapes from Mountain Girl that have never seen the light of day. Not sure, as there is no definitive info available yet, as far as I know.
  13. This reminds me a lot of the conversation I had with my wife about going to all three Florida shows, which were announced right after I had bought us tickets for Solid Sound. The look on her face was priceless...not sure if I would call it tragicomic or cometragic...?
  14. And then when that hard drive just stops working one day...oops, you are S.O.L. I know people's solutions now are "have a backup, and another backup," but how many freaking external hard drives am I supposed to buy? They are just not that reliable of an item, in my experience, and at $100 a pop, they are not exactly cheap. Once it stops working, that is it. Take it around to a few shops, and when you hear what they tell you, you will decide to keep some of your most essential music in a format you can see.
  15. Anyone else get and listen to the new Dave's Pick yet? I am almost finished with the last disc. It's good, but I hope no one makes the same mistake I made: getting overexcited by all the breathless hyperbole on the dead.net forum. Man, I think there are still people out there feeling the effects of doses they ate in 1987. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's '74, of course it's not a crap show. But man oh man, people, it ain't the the ark of the covenant. It's not going to surpass 8/27/72.
  16. Now they are torturing us. Come on, we need someone with inside information.
  17. Here is some footage of Trey playing with Phil and Bob at Lockn' in 2013. I suspect the Chicago shows are going to be very similar to this. Swap out Hornsby for the keyboard player and eliminate the other guitar player, and that's what you're getting. http://youtu.be/yXu8g4LS0SU
  18. Is that the Long Island Sound box, with the Bob/Rob shows? I was at the Hartford show, as I believe I have mentioned around these parts. My only chance to catch a Jerry show. I guess I was pretty lucky to catch a good one.
  19. I heard My Morning Jacket might be there...oh, and Trey Anastasio.
  20. Well, this pretty much says it all. Ha! But seriously, anyone who is interested, just check out the song samples on Amazon if you're interested. If you go, "Wow, this is so cool!"...then maybe you should buy it. If not, then guess what? The whole album sounds like that. There are no great revelations to be had. And yes, those terrible lyrics by Polly Sampson just go to show you that Gilmour is still clueless about lyrics. The guy can play, but I suspect he's not the most literate person around...
  21. Yeah, I checked out that "new" Pink Floyd Lite via download, and suffered through it for you all. Emphasis on the word "suffered."
