Hate to even admit I was just joking. Did not catch any Dead-related shows until my first Dead show in '82.

Tweedy doing another U.S. leg; Santa Fe, NM in late March
Mr. Heartbreak replied to sonnyfeeling's topic in Just A Fan
That's a whole lotta Tweedy going on! I was originally hoping for a Tweedy solo show in Florida, but now with all the Wilco shows + Solid Sound, I'm just hoping for a TWEEDY set in Mass. -
Sorry about that. I used to do some shit that was pretty annoying to others when I was dosed.

Wilco extends its 20th Anniversary tour to the South.
Mr. Heartbreak replied to mariana neri's topic in Just A Fan
Kind of a weird lineup of headliners: Keith Urban, The Who, Jimmy Buffett, Widespread Panic, No Doubt, Elton John, and...TBA. Could it be...Led Zeppelin? -

Yep, Wilco at Jazzfest, Fri., April 24th. In between Jimmy Cliff and Keith Urban? http://lineup.nojazzfest.com/ -
St. Augustine May 1, 2015 - Sec. 103 -1 extra
Mr. Heartbreak replied to Yaz Rock's topic in Got Extras?
I'm on their email list, since I went to the 2012 Wilco show there, and it actually looks like they have some good acts lined up for 2015: Lucinda Williams, Iris DeMent, Al DiMeola, Neutral Milk Hotel (already sold out)...not just classic rock acts by a long shot. -
Desperately Seeking Advice: URGENT!

How are your teeth? -
I was at a Jerry Garcia show, and the people in front of us were smoking up a big fat joint. My brother and I, two legendary stoners, were right over their heads, so they generously offered to pass it up our way. But we were both clean and sober, so we politely declined. Oh, wait, that actually did happen...

So What are Your Ambitions for 2015?
Mr. Heartbreak replied to kidsmoke's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Hope we can meet up there too! This will be the first Solid Sound for my wife and me. Already got the "early bird" special and hotel booked. Other ambitions for the year: get some stuff self-published, get finances in better order (spend less, save more), and get in slightly better shape! -
The 2002 era is still my favorite era of live Wilco shows. The older tunes had real drive and raw energy, and the newer ones were no longer unpolished like they were when first unveiled in 2001. I saw them 3 times in one week (hmm, I'm doing that again this April), and I wished I could have caught even more shows!

What is your New Years Eve Activity ?
Mr. Heartbreak replied to roadhse ma's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Dang, that sounds like the year I had 3 years ago, in 2011: developed tinnitus in February, my wife of nearly 10 years left me in August, and then it really got fun. I broke my ankle, had an AC leak in my downstairs ceiling, had a plumbing leak in my downstairs ceiling, then had to have a major surgery called a parotidectomy, leaving me with a large, ugly scar on my neck. (Don't Google it if you are squeamish). That year would have been like a bad comedy if it were a movie, and I was wishing it was just about anybody else's life but mine. The good news is that these things are cyclical, just l -
Looks like they didn't make an announcement until February for the 2013 fest.

Why so complicated? Was Wilcoheads too obvious a choice?

Rumor mill on dead.net has it that there will be some August '71 Dead pooting forth in 2015, part of the "houseboat tapes" stash. That led me to check out the 8/14/71 show on archive.org and holy cannoli, this has some smokin' versions of classic Dead. If ol' Dave chooses this for a Pick, I might forgive him all his previous errors. https://archive.org/details/gd71-08-14.sbd.ladner.21268.sbeok.shnf Check out Hard to Handle. Jerry is on fire!

Some good lists here, and I see a lot of dates I would include if I were motivated enough to compile a list. I would add 8/31/99, not only because it was my first Wilco show but also because there's a nice soundboard of it floating around out there. Also, 11/2/02, another nice board. Short show, but has an excellent How to Fight Loneliness > Laminated Cat as its centerpiece. Jeff's guitar work at its wildest, and of course, well recorded. Both of these shows also feature Misunderstood when the # of nothings hadn't gotten up to the thirties or forties.

I read this comment a while back, and forgot to reply to it...probably just on my phone when I read it and never got around to it. The "standing vs. sitting" debate has gone on here for many years. Wilco started out playing mostly clubs, so they were used to having people on their feet in front of the stage. However, as they began playing to larger audiences in theaters, there has developed a genuine quandary: stay in your nice comfortable seat, or stand up and risk drawing the ire of your neighbors. For me, I will suffer through a general admission pit area to be close to the stage...but

March 17th, 1988 - Frank Zappa, Binghamton, NY - My only Zappa show, but it was memorable. He did some funny stuff, parts of which ended up on live releases. The main one was something called "Make A Sex Noise," in which female members of the audience were invited to come up to the mic and make a "sex noise" to musical accompaniment. The funniest part was actually the fact that when FZ made the announcement to the audience, several women ran toward the stage, so he said, "No, no, they have to be volunteers...It can't be under duress." Feb 16, 2005 - Wilco - The ultimate in banter. Jeff too

Merry Christmas ViaChicago Peeps
Mr. Heartbreak replied to Albert Tatlock's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year, everybody. Hope to meet up with some of you next year at SS if not here in F-L-A. -
Going to catch Wilco at their 3 Florida shows, then Solid Sound. Kind of a Wilco overdose, since I didn't get a Wilco fix in 2014. Other than that, nothing much: Rene Marie, if I don't resell the tickets to pay toward my Wilcomania.

Those bands you hope to see one day!
Mr. Heartbreak replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
I have seen Neal Casal with CRB, but I would really like to see him without them some time. Dude has a bunch of great songs of his own. -
