  1. If anyone wants to save a few pesos and get general admission tickets for the Tally show, I have 2 that I am reselling below cost. Details in the How To Fight Loneliness forum thread, or just PM me. Thanks.
  2. Joan still sounds pretty good, though I don't know as I would have put her in the HOF before Yes, Warren Zevon, etc. etc. On the Smiths, NIN, etc... I suppose they are considered rock, but it's not a style of rock that I relate to or identify with, so I'm apathetic about whether or not those bands are, uh, "honored" by such an induction. Same goes for Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and all sorts of other people. BTW, I'm a 50-year-old Deadhead, so I'm with Lammy. That's one of the great things about a band like Wilco: they have attracted fans who like the Stones and Beatles, but they have also a
  3. Not bad in that SRV, Green Day, Lou Reed and PBBB all got in, and I consider them to be rock acts.
  4. So if I have this right, Nine Inch Nails, The Smiths, Kraftwerk, N.W.A., Chic, Sting, War, The Spinners, and The Marvelettes are the ones not getting in this year. That's not bad at all.
  5. As a Florida resident, all I can say is "About freaking time." Seems ridiculous, especially when we have some kind of relations with China, but not a country that's like 50 feet away.
  6. Can anyone with a Mac explain to me how to attach a file these days without it saying "Attached Thumbails?"
  7. Right away, Marco Rubio is bitching about it..and the comments sections in the online articles are full of comments about "commies" and "Chairman Maobama." This country really has a lot of retrogressive citizens...
  8. Bad news for anyone who bought tickets (as I did) in the General Admission section for Capital City: that is not a pit, it's in the back. There is no pit area in front, just seats. I screwed that one up and inadvertently got tickets in the back...it will no doubt be the farthest back I have ever been for a Wilco show.
  9. 459 in the pit, according to this. Still sounds pretty cozy...or pretty sweaty. YMMV http://staugamp.sjcvenues.com/p17-venue-specifications.aspx
  10. I'm in for all three too. We'll have to get together in Tallahassee if we can! Haven't seen you in about 10 years, right?
  11. I saw this, and I noticed that the request box runs the same for all three days, too. So they are (possibly) keeping the options open for a Tweedy or Wilco show on any of those days.
  12. Oh, that's ok. I'm glad it looked convincing enough to be a real album!
  13. I'm sure there will be a few repeats here and there. And a show that included Casino Queen, Pick Up the Change, Far Far Away and Hoodoo Voodoo sounds pretty good to me!
  14. It's kind of interesting that they put out the "What's Your 20?" release, played the "This is 40" arrangement of "I Got You," and are doing exactly 30 songs each night. Is someone in Wilco into numerology or something?
  15. I wanted my joke to have some universal appeal.
  16. Bob's next next album, featuring even older songs: The Big, Big Sleep (a.k.a. Songs Nobody Wants to Hear, Least of All By Dylan) 1. Clementine 2. Star Spangled Banner 3. Hellhound on My Trail 4. Camptown Races 5. Old Folks At Home 6. Oh Shenandoah 7. Jelly Roll Blues 8. When Johnny Comes Marching Home 9. Goodnight Irene
  17. Kind of hard to imagine the current Howlin' Wolf/Louie Armstrong version of Bob singing Jingle Bells... I guess it would be pretty funny, though! On the other hand, Dylan's Christmas tunes can't be much worse than this: http://ultimateclassicrock.com/joe-perrys-merry-christmas
  18. This is exactly what I am hoping will happen at SS, since I have not had a chance to see the Tweedy solo material in any venue (or, for that matter, any Jeff solo show).
  19. Have you expanded the search beyond Mass? My wife and I are staying at a little motel in Bennington, VT, just 30 minutes or so from MassMoCA. It was only $85 per night with a king bed. I know some people want to go straight to bed after a day's festivities, but I don't mind a short drive to decompress before bed time...
  20. Kinda bummed I missed so much of this broadcast, but what I did get to hear was really good. I was waiting to pick up my wife from work when it started, so I got to hear Less Than You Think, Ashes Of American Flags, Bull Black Nova, IATTBYH and One Wing. But then on our ride home I missed from Panthers (!) on, then tuned back in again at home to catch Radio Cure and At My Window, Hesitating Beauty, Box Full of Letters, The Late Greats & The Good Part. Would love to have heard Dark Neon, True Love Will Find You and Give Back The Key To My Heart. Hope they do some epic sets like these for So
