  1. Man, you really have to enroll in a twelve-step or something to wean yourself off the show. Your addiction is painful to witness. I really like the show still, and thought last week's was damn good. As for Michael's supposed total-prickness: if he'd broken up with Pam's mom in that moment by telling the truth (she's too old), I'd agree with you. But he lied, saying he didn't want to upset Pam anymore, so that shows some kindness, in my book.
  2. Google "beck velvet underground download" and there's a DL link on the first page of results. And thanks for the reminder, I kinda forgot about this.
  3. So this is what it took for a media outlet to cover a women's sporting event.
  4. Nah, I checked the definition. I was the one bleating about the dictionary definition. I was wrong. Either way, I doubt we feel differently about how much this incident sucks all kinds of ass.
  5. Yep. Also: "people who are not directly mourning any of the victims in this tragedy".
  6. cryp - your usage of "assumes" in your first sentence is key. Dick Ctionary would disagree with what you're saying. Agreed we're arguing semantics to an extent, but I have no problem with labeling anyone who inflicts terror a terrorist.
  7. I realize that was the point you were making. That's where you and I differ. Anyway - sad, awful story. If the psychiatrists are starting to lose it, what chances do the rest of us have?
  8. I guess we'll just disagree on this. I don't see his lack of connection (from what we know right now) to an organized movement as a factor. If he was whiter than Alan Thicke, hadn't spoken to a soul other than his mommy in the past ten years and was chanting "LOLLIPOPS!" as he killed his victims (I don't know if he was chanting anything for the record), I'd call him a capital T terrorist too.
  9. You forgot to add a period before 'but' and stop there.
  10. I don't understand Speed Racer's point. A rose is a rose is a rose. It's terrorism. I'm not going to be careful not to call this terrorism because the fucker happens to be Muslim. That'd be some Catch 22 type of bullshit.
  11. I cheated, but I didn't want to fill up a bunch of spots with albums by the same artist. Plus, Do I really like YHF better than SBS? Rising Down better than Phrenology? Hell if I know. (subject to change, of course!) #1 - Wilco: (catalogue) #2 - D'Angelo: Voodoo #3 - The Kleptones: A Night At The Hip Hopera #4 - Radiohead: Kid A #5 - Daft Punk: Discovery #6 - The White Stripes: (catalogue) #7 - Beck: Sea Change #8 - The Roots: (catalogue) #9 - Gnarls Barkley: St. Elsewhere #10 - Bob Dylan: "Love & Theft" #11 - Beastie Boys: To The 5 Boroughs #12 - Sparklehorse: Dark Night of the Soul #13
  12. That's actually a transcript of a performance from '86.
  13. Yeah, I can't imagine not liking Jane Austen.
  14. If I was a tad more political around these parts, I'd use this:
  15. I liked A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius. I haven't read any of his other books, but I started What Is The What once.
  16. You mean when you look back at it.
  17. "Best Thread in Someone Else's Songs of the '00s"
  18. Some suck less than others, I'll admit that much.
  19. People, all fast food sucks. There's no need to defend/attack any of the chains.
