I think when scrolling down a list of song titles posted from a setlist (of a show you didn't attend), it's easier to complain about familiar titles. When I'm at a Wilco show, I pretty much never have the thought "I'd rather be hearing (song title) right now." They play the songs they play because they sound GREAT live.

But PopTodd hit the nail on the head - you wouldn't call The Temptations one of the greatest bands ever. There's just something about the word band that implies geetars and booze and shit. Why don't we rename this thread "All Time Best Popular Music Acts From The United States" and be done with it.
