Yes. I have a 2GB iPod that when picked clean has something like 1.7GB available. It's bullshit that these things get marketed that way.

How was Wilco?

Producing maybe, but I think this is actually only the third film he's directed.

My problem with Paul Rudd is he always seems very pleased with how 'funny' he's being.

"Melon farmer" was also used to great effect in broadcast airings of Repo Man.

Yeah, that doesn't really count here. It's just odd to see all of these shout-outs for songs that people want played at their funerals, because 99% of the time, it won't be happening. I guess I'm biased - I was at a funeral once where 'Within You Without You' by The Beatles was played, because the deceased had apparently mentioned it once (in this type of forum) - and it was just weird for all involved.

Happy Endings - never had heard anything good about this. B picked it out at the library. An enjoyable, if overlong and convoluted comedy. Good performances from Tom Arnold, Jason Ritter and Lisa Kudrow (though she didn't really play her character that well, she acted well, if that makes sense). Uses onscreen words throughout for character insight, which wasn't as annoying as I figured it would be. Maggie Gyllenhaal is at the apex of her whole sexy-but-not-pretty thing in this.

I know what you mean. I was thinking about just that after the show, and I think it comes down to how good a bullshit detector TV is. Saddam Hussein wrapping his arm around the British boy he was holding hostage, Michael Jackson making out with Lisa Marie Presley onstage on MTV - those two stick out as examples of how easy it is to discern a lack of sincerity (sometimes) on TV. And I saw nothing but sincerity from the little girl yesterday - she didn't look up at the family, didn't back off or seem ill at ease. I really think she was there on her own terms.

I don't think anyone's really trying to convince anyone of anything. At least I'm not reading anything that way. I love SBS, and I can see that plenty of Wilco fans don't like it. Lotsa people seem to like the new one a lot, and I don't really. -shrug- It's just interesting to talk about.

Aside from the George influence on "You Never Know", I haven't read much talk (complaining or otherwise) about "influences" on this album; rather, the talk which I think you are referring to is focused on the "familiar" sound this album has. To me, it's the first Wilco album that sounds like a Wilco album. And that's not good to me. And all this talk (in the press) about how the band seems "confident being Wilco" on this record I think is a bunch of whogivesashit. When have I ever listened to an album and thought "Boy, this sounds like they really are comfortable in their skin. This band has a

Before she spoke, the other brother did say "Janet wants to say something"...then it was the little girl. And regardless of whether or not she was being exploited, you'd really have to be dead inside not to feel the love and sadness of that moment.

That's harsh and most likely unfair.
