  1. I did indeed, and my recording has been a joy to re-hear since the show, but y'know what, fobstl's recording is better than mine. The music sounds fabulous in mine, but Jeff's vocals are a bit buried, and we couldn't EQ it much better. Probably due to the combination of where we were positioned (very front, middle) and the lack of a stand. I assume fobstl was back by the soundboard. Thank you, fobstl, for a great recording, and for sharing it so quickly. I have some GREAT photos, so if it's ok with fobstl, I'll get to work pronto on cover art. Sound good? M. Chris & Edie, I'll send y
  2. Me too, Bobbob, but the photo of you & M. Chris makes up for it. I'm glad we at least got a phone chat.
  3. Oh, good, your photo came out! The one from my camera was all double-imaged from the low light....virtually the same photo, but with double-vision. What a sweet time at Planet Beer....oops, I mean the Flying Saucer! Edie's "Planet Beer" has totally stuck in my head!!!! This was the place where I met Ikol, Jenna, and Brad (Pigsooie) and it was a wonderful setting for meeting and anticipating the upcoming Wilco show. About a block and a half up from the Arkansas River, and a terrific and warm little joint with the most amazing beer menu.......good Lord, how to choose! It was a "I''ll have
  4. Nude pillowfights. The pillows were sans pillowcases! Shocking.
  5. I made it all the way home to CA. Same time next year? I miss you. I miss Wilco. I even miss Kauffman nails. sigh.
  6. I took several, but he was really moving....don't have the photos off my camera yet (just got home to CA) but one looks clear enough to see the crown, and Glenn's head's not behind the cymbal. I'll post asap.
  7. I also had to deal with a couple of drunken girls who pushed so hard against my back that I thought maybe a skin graft was what they were after. I pushed back firmly. That had only mildly successful results, so at the song break, I turned and said sweetly, "I'm sorry, but please don't press against me like that....I'm feeling really overheated and faint....like I might throw up...." That seemed to back her up a bit! I was really hot, but not actually faint or queasy, but if I had been, when the moment came I would've turned & aimed for her shoes. (You've all been warned.)
  8. Which there, the one about your license being suspended, or being at the show? Sorry we didn't get to meet!
  9. I must say, we and Jeff sang it excellently! "Can you take us to the store, and then the bank? We've got about five dollars (between us) we can put in the tank.....(It's all in change, is that cool?)" We infused the song with pathos and wheedling. Y'all woulda been proud. It was like we'd all been there!
  10. Johnny, go with a beret. I don't think Jeff has one so that oughta be safe.
  11. The nap can wait!!!!!!! Get those pics up for everybody to see. And remember, post using only the best......Kauffman nails!!! Sorry folks....inside joke related to our roadtrip's theme.
  12. No, "report" is what we call that function, and is always fine to do if a member thinks it's necessary. Better that than on-board bashing between members.
  13. My dearest Wilcos, this was the best damned party I've ever been to. Thank you, thank you, thank you, a million times over. Outrageously, transcendently state-of-the-art Wilco. I bow to you. (That's a bow apiece, let's nobody take two.) What joy! Also, Jeff, keep the hawt hat! It's a great look, as my photos will attest (once I get home and post them that is.) And Glenn, keep the crown. Equally fetching. It seems that hats are coming back! Somebody get John a nice fedora....Nels would look great in a porkpie....etc. (Can anyone tell I'm a bit done in and sleep-deprived? T
  14. So this is shaping up to be a gathering of hawt chicks and hawt guys. Cool! Let's hope the weather isn't too hawt.
  15. Oh! We almost ate there, but didn't have time for a proper lunch, so we just grabbed fish & chips. Moby Dick's looked like a great place! We'll have to go there another time....maybe you could join us?
  16. I made fast friends with this guy while having lunch on Stearns Wharf in Santa Barbara, while my son Tom & I were in S.B. to see Wilco at the Santa Barbara Bowl. These photos still crack me up. Here's looking at you, kid. Also your lunch. So....you gonna eat those fries? He helped finish every scrap, with the assistance of a deep-gray, red-beaked pal who sat on the railing beside us, close enough to give me an ear exam. Every time I glanced to the left, the gray guy was staring at me from maybe 6 inches away, all intensity and devotion. The pair ate well that day.
  17. It is! Please come introduce yourself....our little band of hooligans will be up toward the front. I'll wear my "Knuckleheads for Wilco" button if it'll help. Very cool that your parents have such excellent taste!
  18. WONDERFUL STUFF!!! Thanks for sharing! Glenn is such a joy to watch in HMD. Love that big chrome jellybean sculpture in your photos.
  19. DAMN!!!! I love this review. Felt like I was right there with you. Sounds like it was an amazing night!
  20. Ryan! WOO-HOO! So far this is looking like a smallish crowd.....good, we'll have no trouble getting right up front. Oh and Wendy, while I'm sure your Melissa-finding-strategy is an excellent one, it is rendered unnecessary by the fact that M.Chris & Edie & I will have already kidnapped the lass for the Little Rock show. But I might try your method anyway, just to see how many Melissas are in the crowd....as a sort of sociology experiment.....
