I think with. More interesting and nutritious. But I'd be willing to make it however Wilco prefers.

Seven is great, Vanessa. She'll have a headful of stars by the time the night winds up. Lucky girl....and a terrific first show.
  3. Kevin, my love and warmest thoughts to you and yours, at this sad, difficult time. Words are so weak at a time like this, but I just wanted to add my voice to everyone else's here & send love and support. And yes, I will take your advice to pause right now, today, and let my loved ones know how loved they are. Take care of yourself and your family. myboyblue, all the best to you & yours as well. So hard to lose a beloved older family member....shakes the whole family structure. Hang in there.
  4. Andrew, it sounds as though you've had a near-perfect San Franciscan vacation. Couldn't wish it on a nicer guy.
  5. Jen, I hope a sense of pure peace and serenity will come over your mom and your grandfather's wife as they help your grandfather release from this life. I can't imagine anything harder than what your mom is now going through, but there is a rightness and beauty to the fact that she is there to help. I hope she can feel that in her heart and find peace. You, sweetness, are in my thoughts.
  6. Much love to you and Patti, Mart. What a blessing for Dottie to have had Patti there at the end.
  7. Yes, that's what it is. And thank you, you just prompted me to unpile my turntable and put on that album (Sir Douglas Quintet, "Mendocino") as well as "Doug Sahm and Band", with the terrific "(Is Anybody Goin' to) San Antone?" Great stuff!
  8. Didn't anyone ever tell that boy not to play on the freeway?
  9. I'd personally prefer that people not post these sorts of post, but rather just put something in their sig line like, "My band...the Soft Prunes...check this link!" That way, interested persons can investigate. I'd rather not have more forums, though I understand your suggestion.
  10. Augie March!!!!!! I am a huge Augie March fan! O the anguish & jealousy!.....Moo, you bloody choir!.... (Augie March fans understand) Andrew, you lucky dog! Continue enjoying all your beautiful adventures! You are roving in God's own heaven, or at least one of His better creations. Can't wait to see what your photographic skills produce, over the course of this trip.
  11. Those are quite dashing, Julie!
  12. That book sounds intense, Maudie. What's the title? I read a fictional account (very well written) of something similar awhile ago, and the images still haunt me. God save these miners. I can't even imagine the terror. Good news that at least some have been gotten out.
  13. Cover art for this terrific show has been completed....Rob @ WilcoBase has it, so watch for it to be posted there once he has a spare second. (He's generally pretty quick.) It turned out pretty, if I do say so myself. Hope y'all like it. Edit: So y'all know, Rob is on his delayed honeymoon at the moment (and I hope, thinking of better things than his chores at WilcoBase! ) but he's been kind enough to let me know that he expects to get this cover art up soon, as well as a couple of others I sent recently....the L.A. Greek on 8-29-07, and the 9-12-02 4th and B show from San Diego. Thanks R
  14. What a warm & cozy thread for a chilly Fall night!
  15. I've just fired off a passionately composed message to my senators & reps. Let's hope Bush & cronies are laid flat by the angry response to his veto. Please, everyone, let Bush & your congresspersons know how you feel on this. It hurts children, who are as yet unable to defend themselves....and it hurts their families tremendously. It weakens us all.

We have a big backyard, so y'all are invited. Just bring some fried chicken or your favorite hot dish.

My backyard please. I'll BBQ some wild beast or other & make potato salad.
  18. We'd better set up a trade tree. Everybody is gonna want one.
  19. Well Michael, of very course you may lift this idea and run with it (making sticky squelchy noises as you attempt to escape the force field of the cinemuck).....but please stop carrying that book around! You've got popcorn butter all over it. I only gave Greg two cd's, but they were important ones to his research....see Chapter 10. I was glad to help. As for the popcorn bits in the hair, I recommend ordinary white glue, which washes out pretty easily. Now somebody help me with Alissa's costume....she adamantly refuses to go as a jellyfish. Says she doesn't know the sound jellyfishes make..
  20. I'm so glad you went, too! Sharing your personal experience must've been powerful stuff.
  21. I too think this would be a great song for Wilco to cover! It's a great song, period. The louder the better.
  22. I love the way Ken's mind works!
