The Ryan news should be cause for celebration, but look at how exhausted we are! We're glad but that's about it. This is the real uphill, grit your teeth, hard slog of getting out from under the trump administration, and even a victory like Ryan leaving isn't relief enough. This period of history needs to be over.

My heart is with Mavis and her family today, as they mourn the passing of her beloved sister Yvonne at age 80. Thank you, Yvonne, for all the musical gifts you gave. There must've been such a welcoming committee waiting in heaven!

I'm a day late (and a dollar short) but have to say that the past two nights of Kevin Morby at the Troubadour in L.A. have been so good my feet don't even touch the floor today...I'm still floating! Besides his own wonderful music, which included a terrific "Dry Your Eyes" with guitarist Meg Duffy leaping on Kevin's back piggyback-style and draping herself over his shoulders to play his guitar, Dorothy....hahahahaha, that was brilliant!....besides great stuff like that, we also got a stellar version of the Dylan song "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere". That one had the entire audience singing along joy

I love that movie! It's just as much fun the second time through.

This is a very good line. I may have to quote you.

Good luck! That would be so cool in a simple black frame.

Scott McCaughey Benefit Auction: Jeff Tweedy Stetson and Beyond
kidsmoke replied to kidsmoke's topic in Just A Fan
More Wilco/Tweedy items to bid on: A signed framed band photo, A signed copy of Sukierae (Vinyl, signed by Jeff and Spencer), and a signed (by Jeff) copy of Schmilco. https://charity.ebay...p?NP_ID=2331601 Chris wanted you all to know that each of these items came directly from The Loft, with their usual generosity, and much love for Scott. These are the last Wilco-related items Chris has for the auction. So get in there and bid, bid, bid! Think how nice any of these items would look hung in a place of honor in YOUR home! -
Well you beat me to the punch! We were waiting until eBay had officially okayed & posted the new items...it hadn't happened yet, last night. Here's the link to the 3 Wilco/Tweedy items mentioned above: https://charity.ebay.com/charity/charity.jsp?NP_ID=2331601 Chris wanted you all to know that each of these items came directly from The Loft, with their usual generosity, and much love for Scott. These are the last Wilco-related items Chris has for the auction. So get in there and bid, bid, bid! Think how nice any of these items would look hung in a place of honor in YOUR home!

....aaannd McCabe is gone. Two days before he would have retired, with early retirement benefits. What a mean little bitch trump is.

I think it was Andy Borowitz who suggested a second armed teacher to prevent the first from doing this.

I feel like they are headed toward the full-on rabies position, which leaves me wondering why? Are MANY of them also somehow compromised by the Russians? The Koch Bros? The NRA? All of the above? What would it take for them to abandon this hopeless presidency? And yes, why don't they apparently even care about saving their own asses in November? But I do think once a crack happens, it's going to be explosive desertion. It just hasn't yet.

And what was that thing I missed yesterday where trump said something about wall climbers being like mountain climbers? Does he ever have an uncensored bizarre thought that he keeps to himself? I have this image in my head now, of potential wall-climbers in mountaining gear as if for Everest. Only trump could put an image like that in someone's head. Meanwhile, I am thinking of buying stocks in whatever company makes lightweight collapsible 30 ft. ladders.

Scott McCaughey Benefit Auction: Jeff Tweedy Stetson and Beyond

This makes me really happy! And if he spaces an occasional lyric, we, the fans, can fill in. Besides, who cares...it's all about how much fun it is to be in a room with Scott McOi. -
Oh gawd you went and had an opinion, didn't you?!!!? You will be happier in an elsewhere kind of place. Don't waste too much time in review...better awaits!

I have heard this!

I am so sorry to hear this. I hope it results in a move upward into a better job. How crappy of them to give you no notice!

Scott McCaughey Benefit Auction: Jeff Tweedy Stetson and Beyond

There's some more Tweedy-related stuff coming too. Ohhhh! SO close!!! By the way, see you at the Vic, Tyler! How can you possibly be Texan without a cowboy hat? Bid! -
Yeah, it's "Out in the Storm" that got me, too. What an amazing, satisfying album. Best of all, the songs translate beautifully live. Our set was about half Out in the Storm. Brass Beam sure sounded great. And Silver. And Recite Remorse worked really well as an opener!

These moments are so hard...they really solidify your loss, somehow. But recognizing what he was to you can be a sweet insight, almost like him talking in your ear. It does get easier over time. Talk to him about the game if you want to! I'll bet in your mind you can hear his answer. It's 5 years since I lost my dad, but we still "talk" sometimes. I'll bet your dad will be there in spirit whenever you watch a game.
