Somewhat my fault...I didn't have time to post earlier in the day, so my birthday wish went up late. But no matter! Belated birthday wishes are just as sweet, if anyone wants to chime in now. It's still Jeff's Birthday Week!

You are the wind beneath our wings! Sorry this is so late...busy day!...but I couldn't let today get by without a huge shout-out of love to our favorite bandleader! I hope your day has been magnificent, Jeff! Don't burn your beak on those candles!

I'm so deeply sorry for your pain. I hope you can hold onto the sweet memories, and get past the sense that "there must have been some way you could have known." You loved him and enjoyed his company. Be glad you were able to give him that gift. You couldn't have known.

How was this? Great I'll bet!

I really want to see this!

How scary for you and him! But it sounds like you are calm and practiced at dealing with it. Best of luck! I hope your good vibes prove to be true on the employer's end, too!

...what music is appropriate for when you are watching your government go down in flames? Any suggestions welcome. I'm thinking Mendoza Line.

I love the British even more than usual today.

Whether it's a cave or a cage, kids don't belong trapped in them. I am overjoyed that these boys and their coach are all safe. The odds seemed so stacked against them, and I can only imagine how exhausted their rescuers are. RIP to the diver who lost his life making sure these kids survived. Now let's work on freeing the caged ones. Don't sit on the sidelines and watch. Each of us can help drive the changes that must happen. Do your bit.

I don't know how much the rest of you are following this story, but this situation is claustrophobia-inducing just to read about. I can't imagine how it feels to live what those boys and their coach are experiencing. Thoughts and prayers aren't the fashionable thing these days, but those kids are in mine. I hope by some blend of expertise, superhuman effort, and luck, the rescuers succeed.

Wow! You are having a stellar day!

Thank you for marching! My husband and I marched in L.A. and as usual, the march gave me back my faith in humanity! There are many, many good and decent Americans who oppose the travesties of this government. PS - I love your hat!

I love that piece, and I agree. See you all at the rallies on Saturday.

I'm so sorry, Jon. It's painful and you find yourself with so many things you wish you could say to him. Say them to him anyway and trust that somehow he hears.

Great video! Thanks for sharing it, Mike!

And it hurts harder still that it was a suicide. At only 61. You never know what pain someone else is dealing with. Err on the side of compassion. RIP, Anthony. Thanks.

We Wilco fans stick together. I will be donating and I hope others are also moved to help! Hang in there, Dustin. We are all pulling for you.

But it would absolutely be good "dumb" fun!

John Mullvaney is a pretty funny guy. I loved the horse-in-a-hospital bit! I need to see more of him.

I loved It Follows. Creepy as hell!

This is next on my reading stack!

That sounds fun!

Please tell me this isn't real. It's hard to tell with trump. And Obama likes Wilco, so trump must hate them, in order to remain loyal to his base.
