I'm sort of jealous of you first-timers. You will have the experience of a lifetime! Drink it all in, and be sure to allow time to check out the gorgeous surrounding area, the spectacular museums (Go to the Clark!) and the charming and welcoming town. Mountainbike, someday we will meet at a ssf. It's a certainty! Until then, I'll buy you a drink and then, uh, consume it on your behalf, because why waste good beer, right? There are sober children in Appalachia! Please come say hello, all of you. I'm the brunette with glasses and red streaks in the back of my hair. That oughta narrow it down

So yeah, I'll begin at the end by saying I am way behind on SSF 2019. I feel very disorganized at the moment. So would you all be so good as to tell me who is attending? Just yell out roll call style. As for the "promises" part...Whoever I told I would buy a beer or a drink or a sandwich while we're there had better remind me because I know I did but not who. So hold me to it! There were a couple of you. But I'm not going to believe ALL of you.

For any of you who will be at Solid Sound: GROUP PHOTO SHOOT PLAN! Meet at 11 am on Saturday wherever the big WILCO letters are. If you bought one of the shirts promoted as a group solidarity project, wear it. If not, wear your favorite Wilco shirt. And if for any reason you can’t make it at 11 am on Saturday, meet at the same location on Sunday at 10:45 for a makeup photo shoot. This group photo shoot is open to all, but especially to members of A Shot in the Arm, Solid Sound Fest 2019, and Via Chicago. Come one, come all! It'll make a cool souvenir to see your mug in a group shot! And we'r

CONGRATULATIONS! How exciting for you.

Whoa, a 30 minute taxi ride that took over 3 hours! There better've been a pub crawl in there somewhere!
-
Sounds intriguing.

You had an ADVENTURE! How far away from Dublin was the venue?!
-
Me too! That's a beautiful verse!

I suppose we should count this one. Though I'd prefer the pure word "Silver", Jeff, if you're reading along. Nobody has mentioned the elegant simplicity of "Purple Black Eye" yet.
-
I think it counts, but Jeff still has to use silver in a song. Unless somebody can name a song where he already does? Ooh, good ones! I love that "green, green grass" line. I was just listening to that earlier today.

I was reminded recently of a very old topic we'd once had here at VC, in which we discussed Jeff's use of color words in songwriting, and his framing in adjectives and such... Sky Blue Sky Bull Black Nova Windows painted blue I love Jeff's ability to paint a visual image in words that seems like something you know and have seen, even if you've never thought of it in quite the imagery he stirs up. At the time this online discussion was happening, I remember I saw Jeff after some show, and I was talking to him about it and teased him that he'd used every color somewhere, but never the colo

Thanks for starting us a fresh thread! I really liked The Poisonwood Bible. Has anyone read The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating by Elisabeth Tova Bailey? I loved it.

Served at many potlucks at Winterfell and across the realms, a roasted mystery meat called simply, "What Arya?"

Ok, this started with a friend and it's too fun not to share... Game of Thrones Recipes, or as we call it, GoR Here's our starter list: 3 Eyed Raven Bread North of the Wall Snowcones Scrambled Dragon Eggs (spicy!) Hot Wings Bloody Burnt Cow Poisoned Chalice (alcoholic drink) Ok so you need to help us create this book. What meals do you imagine sharing, were you to dine with these characters? Which ales do you quaff and all that? Bear in mind, I haven't seen the finale and am at least a season back, but I don't suppose it will be possible to not hear spoilers. Just don't tell more than

I worked in special ed for 10 years, and since then have done tutoring at all school age levels.

I'm afraid something's been lost in translation here... I merely meant not to upset the tray on which said breakfast was served. Oh dear, I hope that doesn't mis-translate!
-
Here's hoping all of the moms out there in Via Chicagoland will have a beautiful day and be fully appreciated for all they do! Don't be dumping your breakfast-in-bed in the actual bed now!

Wow, that is strict! Too bad some folks get so blatant and obnoxious with their cell phones that everyone else gets penalized for it. But I can understand it from the artist's point of view. Sounds like Neko gave you a Hell-On of a performance!

You'll have to search him out in Belleville I guess! Jay signed a UT cd for me once too. Held my drink and everything! He was sweet. Glad to hear he's enjoying himself onstage.
-
Jealous of all of you! Have fun and report back!
-
Very cool! I spotted a robin yesterday, fat and sassy.

Here's the reply from WilcoWorld: "It's easy to transfer tickets - it's essentially just a bar code that you can forward to someone else." I hope that helps get it resolved.
-
I've never heard of any difficulty transferring tickets. Let me see if I can find something out for you.
-
This sounds like a blast! How was it?

I'll see you in the front row at SSF! Ohmme are terrific!
